My only complaint is that the service is almost always slow, sometimes amazingly, mind-bending, universe-altering slow. And I don’t think it’s the people; it’s got to be the process. I say this because no matter whose on staff or what time of day, it’s slow. That’s not a people problem; there’s something wrong with how everyone has to get the food ready. I also worked fast food for 5 years when I was younger. Your people aren’t moving slow; I know a slow fast food employee as a previous supervisor. No, there’s something wrong with how they have to go about it.
So, I love you Wendy’s of Macon, but please hear me:
I just can’t risk going here if I’m in a hurry. I’ve seen a potato and a chili take 20+ minutes. I’ve even waived the cameras in the store so I could write corporate and prove I waited when it was slow for 2 items for a 1/3 of an hour. Honestly, it’s impressive.
Again, I love the food, but did I mention it’s slow? I’m hoping the owners see this review so maybe I won’t be 100 before I get my 100th meal there.
So, what else can I say? It’s really, really, really, slower-than-molasses, sluggish, unhurried, slower-than-a-snail-who-didn’t-get-enough-sleep, dilatory (new word I just learned), and indolent (also a new word I just learned).
I really love having a Wendy’s in Macon and I eat there regularly. I just wish I didn’t have a birthday – and then another birthday – before I got my food.
I wonder if the owners have seen this yet? No? I’ll keep going:
The food is delivered crawling (as in slow, it hasn’t grown arms or legs, that I’ve seen), tortoise-like, ponderous, and laggy. Skipped frames, high-latency, slow to load, 5400 rpm hard drive speed running Windows 11…
A 2008 Macbook Air without the SSD… A 386 running Windows 95… (insert more slow computer analogies here)
Frozen peanut butter in Antarctica slow…
Slower than a McD’s ice cream machine repairman (I know, I know, that might be taking things too far).
Sometimes I wonder if my potato started kindergarten and graduated high school before I received it (grant it, it’s always hot and tasty, but I’m curious if it’s already learned two languages by the time I received it).
I should be clear that I’ve never gotten mad at the staff. I’ve learned to camp out instead. When I’ve been asked to pull forward, I always do so without complaint – turn off my car – and get a full night’s rest, knowing I’ll get my order between then and the next millennium (it’s still hot and tasty!).
And when I do finally get my order, the people are always nice, no problem. They aren’t walking slowly. They aren’t dilly-dallying. Nope, they’re just following some process that makes them slower than a flat penny on a level surface.
I think it’s possible if I started to build a 5 star hotel with nothing but mud, straw, and water, I could get it done before getting my burger without a bun (which, even though every time I ask the ketchup and mustard to be left on it, never once has the ketchup and mustard been on the burger, but that’s ok, if I could get it before the heat death of the universe – which is supposedly about 100 trillion years from now – I wouldn’t even mention it). And seriously, don’t get anyone in trouble for this – I just ask for a ketchup and mustard packet after the fact (or, at the window, if I remember, and before I have to pull up and park overnight waiting).
Alright, I suppose that’s enough. Wendy’s, I love your food, and I have no complaints about your people. I’m very glad you’re in Macon. I’m really just curious if getting my food before the theory of relativity is disproven would be possible. It’d be really nice. – Your #1 fan in Macon, Josh
P.S. I’ve attached a literal picture of me waiting on my last order. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, and the people were great (and restaurant was clean, despite the pic), but I’m afraid I won’t have enough time in life left again. Wendy’s, prove me wrong!
The dining room AND drive through were full to capacity.
The team handled it brilliantly !!!
The restaurant was very clean.
The food was hot AND fresh.
The food was served quickly.
The district manager was on site and his performance was exemplary !!!
The entire team deserves a “job well done.”
Hannah, who took my order, deserves special recognition for going above and beyond the call of duty.
A big THANK YOU to the Wendy’s team !!!
We will be regular customers and highly recommend them to everyone
