My total was $6.42. I paid with $20.50 and was given only $14.00 back with no coins. When I asked for the correct change, the cashier told me she “didn’t have any.” That is not how a business handles cash. Period.
When I asked to cancel the transaction, I wasn’t even given a proper receipt at first. The cashier handed me a receipt showing $0.00 and walked away from the counter.
The manager then came over and immediately confirmed that there actually WAS change in the drawer, directly contradicting what I had just been told. At that point I asked for a refund instead, and during that process the manager told me she “would have given me the food for free if I wasn’t so rude.”
That comment was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I was calm and simply asked for either the correct change or a refund for an incorrect transaction.
Between the incorrect change, the lack of a proper receipt, and the dismissive attitude from both the cashier and the manager, this location has serious issues with both cash handling and basic customer service.
If this is how transactions are handled here, I would strongly suggest management takes a hard look at their procedures and staff training. This was unacceptable.
I urge corporate to take a look at their own books because you can’t possibly keep accurate books if this is how you are handling your business. I will be contacting the Massachusetts Attorney General.
Something need to change here, starting with management.
