The fries were SO good and you get a healthy serving, great for splitting and dipping in your shake. We enjoyed the Oklahoma burger, salmon burger, and shakes. Good amount of food for your money and nice options to add more patties to your burger. Worth the trip just for a late night ice cream treat. We enjoyed the outdoor seating with a view of the game on tv.

Unless you like rare burgers do not order from DoorDash. We assumed smash burgers would be well done, like most other places that sell smash burgers. The app doesn’t give you an option to choose a specific temperature. We may as well have bitten into a live cow. If you like it cool, but ew

The food was delicious and affordable. The single Oklahoma smash was one of the better burgers I’ve had in the last few years. It was cooked perfectly. The ingredients were generous and fresh. My loaded fries tasted great. The root beer float was nostalgic. The staff was very notably nice and fast. I liked the seating area, finding it a creative and comfortable solution. I had a great experience and would eat here again when I am in the area and in the mood for a tasty burger.

We ordered delivery using their online checkout and everything went smoothly. It was easy to use their website, and all the options were clearly labeled. The food came pretty quickly for the large order we had. All the burgers were delicious! The fries were decent, nothing crazy but they were delivered so maybe they are better when dining in. Overall, everything was delicious and for the price you can’t go wrong coming to Wells Roadside!

I sort of expected someone to roller skate out to my car when I parked at this burger and shake restaurant. This was my first visit and I stopped in to try the twin cities vegan chef challenge dish:
Vegan Philly Cheesesteak
Soft hoagie roll, savory Impossible patty, grilled pepper mix, grilled onions, melted Chao vegan cheese, and house-made garlic mayo
The dish was good but I wish the sandwich had been loaded up with more filing. I wouldn’t mind having to eat a few bites with a fork before I can manage the sandwich. The grilled peppers and onions really shown through and made the sandwich. If I were to make a suggestion besides more filling it would be to do a house made (vegan) cheese sauce! Anyways all this to say I enjoyed the meal and the setting and would go back again. I also thought the pricing was super reasonable!

went with my dad and he got an oklahoma smash and i got one as well with the impossible patty. we both thought they were super tasty! also, each fry is a LARGE portion we definitely could have split one! the employees were great and super helpful. the day we went it was pretty cold outside (like probably 0º) but with all of the heaters the “indoor” dining was fine when wearing a jacket!

We were thrilled to hear about a new burger joint with vegan/vegetarian options, so we visited Wells Roadside as quickly as humanly possible. There were definitely a few growing pains, but it has the potential to be an excellent and well-loved restaurant.
We ordered two Oklahoma vegan smash burgers with pickles, a side of fries, and a vanilla milkshake to split.
The burger was quite good! We’re both vegetarian, so we regret not ordering the burgers with American cheese, but the vegan cheese was actually pretty good.
The fries had great flavor but were unfortunately room temperature when they arrived. The shake was delicious and not too sweet.
There were a number of yellow jackets on the patio, but they can likely solve that by putting out some traps, and they’ll go away as it gets cooler.
The patio was really nice, and the food came super fast. I’m giving the experience for 4 stars, but I bet it’ll be a 5 star experience the next time I go. I’ll definitely be back.

Wells Roadside (formerly Wagner’s) in St. Louis Park nails the modern drive-in vibe! Very casual – perfect for families or grabbing a quick bite with seat-yourself outdoor seating.
1st time going there: Me, I’d go back for the french fries, fresh-cut, thin, crispy, big portions loaded into a square paper sack. As far as burgers, I suggest the double patty option (singles are thin, smashed burger style) so if you’re expecting a 1/3 or 1/2 pound, you have to go for the double or triple stack.
Their shakes and ice cream are a special part of the place with their own walk-up window, kids will love it—a great summer go-to.
Food came lightning fast at lunch and prices are reasonable when compared to fast food costs these days.
They run different daily specials (check out Monday’s family deal meals with burger, fries, and drink for only $25).
Mix of covered pavilion with picnic tables and outdoor tables.
Classic roadside spot with modern updates – exactly what Minnesota summer nights are made for!”

9-14-24 Overall, a Great Restaurant! We had the Single & Double Oklahoma Burgers, Smashed Jimmy, Fries with Benefits and a Vanilla Shake w/ Chocolate Swirl. Everything was Delicious!!! All for $37.89 after tax.
Very fun, relaxed, family friendly restaurant. Staff was great, very kind and welcoming.
A little busier rite now I’m imagining. We got in line at 1:26, placed our order at 2:19 and received our food at 2:26. So exactly a hour to get food. I would imagine the amount of time waiting in line to decrease in the future, once the initial excitement wears off. Either way the food was worth the wait.
We found after seeing on two local news channels.

Sept 10 drove by to check progress of construction and saw it was open and decided to try lunch. Tried a single Oklahoma burger, double Smash burger, and a single order of fries. Our fries were cool when we received them, a supervisor asked about our meal, we answered honestly and she brought us a second serving of fries, very kind. Second batch slightly warmer. Perhaps opening day temperature problem with oil or just the nature of super thin, shoestring french fries that they can’t hold heat? Disappointing. Maybe four other tables there eating. Friendly staff. 5-10 minute wait. Lots of seating options: both high top tables and low tables and chairs. Picnic tables. Bars for people to stand and eat. A few square picnic tables on lawn area and two fire pit areas. Tight parking. Will try again.
