If you’re anywhere near southeastern Wisconsin, a stop at Wells Brothers Pizza is basically a rite of passage.

We kicked things off with the antipasto salad, which is always a winner…fresh, generous, and easily big enough for two (honestly, probably more). It’s the kind of starter that makes you feel like you already made the right decision before the pizza even hits the table.

And speaking of pizza… there was no way we were leaving without one of their nationally recognized cracker-thin, cornmeal crust pies. We went with sausage and mushroom, and it absolutely delivered. That signature crust is what sets them apart: light, crunchy, and somehow sturdy enough to carry all that goodness without missing a beat.

We also ordered the Goomba sandwich, which showed up looking like it could double as a free weight. Easily a couple pounds of pure deliciousness. After one bite we realized defeat was inevitable and packed the rest to take home.

Service is consistently excellent…friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. It’s the kind of place that feels both legendary and comfortable at the same time.

Finally after all these years of passing thru, I said the heck with it, we are going to Wells Brothers. And I’m so glad we did. The place has that homie feel and friendly staff, I ordered the pizza with sausage and jalapenos ( pizza is the king of all foods ) and the pizza was amazing one of the best especially if you like tavern style. Although this is tavern style, I feel like they could perfect the margarita pizza which I believe is the king of all pizzas. Please get this on the menu, and I’ll be here at least once every two weeks. Btw the wife got a soup and salad. Who the hell orders that at a pizza establishment. Hahaha. Anywho, she enjoyed her meal as well. be careful, the way they cut the pizza, youll end up eating the whole thing.

Only came to this location because Dave Portnoy had reviewed it, and I love his style of pizza. Tried a half cheese half pepperoni, had it well done and they didn’t disappoint. Perfect amount of all ingredients and an undercarriage to die for. 8.4 on my review

Wells Brothers Italian Restaurant – Racine, Wisconsin

Wells Brothers came highly recommended by the maître D at a different restaurant last night. His advice was simple: get the meat lovers pizza. That alone was enough to get me through the door, but what I found was a whole lot more than just a solid pie.

This place has been a part of Racine since 1921, started by James and Dominic Wells. It’s still sitting on the same corner of 22nd and Mead. Still run by the Wells family. Still turning out food that speaks to tradition and pride. Today, the fifth generation is involved in the day-to-day, and you can feel that deep-rooted sense of continuity from the moment you walk in.

To warm up, I went with a cup of creamy vegetable and wild rice soup. It was rich and hearty, full of fresh flavor, and clearly made with care. No shortcuts here, just honest, comforting soup done right.

Then came the pizza. I ordered the extra crispy meat lovers, and it delivered on every level. Italian sausage, pepperoni, hamburger, bacon, Canadian bacon, and ham, all layered over a paper-thin crust that was crisp from edge to edge. Every bite had that perfect balance of salty meats, just enough sauce, and a golden layer of melted cheese. It was indulgent but focused, the kind of pizza that reminds you why certain recipes don’t need to change.

What really sets Wells Brothers apart is the atmosphere. It’s not flashy. It doesn’t have to be. It’s welcoming, it’s reliable, and it’s run by people who care deeply about what they serve and the community they serve it to.

Bottom Line: Wells Brothers is more than a local favorite. It’s a piece of Racine history. The meat lovers pizza is worth the trip alone, and the warm, family-run feel makes the whole experience that much better.

This pizza restaurant never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The crust has the perfect texture, and the toppings are tasty and generously portioned. The cheese melts beautifully, making every bite delicious. Staff members are friendly and the service is efficient. It’s a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal with family or friends.

Wells Brothers is my favorite pizza place anywhere. We started with the calamari, which was excellent. I always like it when they’ve got the tiny little tentacles in there. My absolute favorite.

I’ve never had such a thin cracker style crust on a pizza. Beyond the fact that it’s the single best crust I’ve ever had, the flavor of the pizza itself is absolutely delicious. Even the next day, if there’s a couple of pieces left over, even though the crust is no longer crunchy, the pizza is absolutely delicious.

Amazing tavern style pizza and old school vibes. Super thin and crispy with flavorful sauce and cheese. Would recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.

Driving through and had to stop with all the rave. I did a phone order. Cheese pizza well done. I came in about half hour later. They tell me sorry we had a big order we are just putting yours in. Came out about 15 minute later. It was a super disappointing pizza. It was not well done and almost soggy. The sauce was just not good. It honestly tasted like a frozen pizza. Maybe just a bad day but most likely won’t be back. Not sure what all the hype is about. I am from Chicago so it’s hard to compete with all our choices. The ladies were super friendly and the place is super cool. Obviously they have enough fans and that’s why they’ve been there 100 years. My taste buds just did not like it at all. I didn’t even eat it all which for me is absolutely crazy lol

I heard rave reviews of wells bros pizza. Pizza wasn’t amazing, it was just ok. Toppings were decent, sauce was ok on a really thin crust. Nothing to get excited about. Garlic bread was pricey for what you get. Cheese curds were above average. House marinara was really good. Busy but immediate seating. Plenty of parking.
