Went for lunch. Food was great. Kind of smelt like stale beer in the place. Stink beetle found crawling in the booth, which grossed some of us out. Beer was slightly warm. Lemonade was a little watery. 3.5 stars, but upped to 4 because waitress was very kind.

I ordered a $18 baked Mac n cheese entree that was supposed to be baked with a breadcrumb crust. It was a small portion that looked like a side dish. it wasn’t baked or had any breadcrumbs on it. The waitress even argued saying it didn’t come that way even though the menu said otherwise. I ended up ordering something else. After over an hour finally got my food. By that time the rest of my party was finished. So I took it to go. So now I get to enjoy my soggy bread snadwhich and fries nuked in the microwave at home. They really no how to ruin your day

I’ve been visiting Wellman’s for years and yet to have a bad experience. The staff excel at customer service, the food is solid and the drinks are great. If you want to experience the bar at its best go during a Hawkeye football game or basketball game. DJ plays during breaks and prizes awarded at the end of quarters.

I ordered A cup of soup and a side salad. I was told that the soup was a brothy soup and wouldn’t have any type of thickener in it. Since I’m gluten free, that’s what I needed. Unfortunately, when the cup of soup came it was not brothy. It was a thick soup. One of the people that I was with ordered some type of salmon I believe it was, it was so spicy she couldn’t eat it. I didn’t think the food was anything fantastic. The service was good in the atmosphere was good.

This place was good and bad. Our first thought was it smelled like chlorine when we walked in. It was empty on a football Sunday at dinner time, so that was not expected. The staff were friendly and our waitress checked on us often, so the service was great. The food was ok, nothing special. We got the pretzels, which were a little rubbery to me. The chicken strips were actually tasty, and the fries were a little better than average. I will say my daughter loved the food and said it was even better reheated the next day. They did have all the football games on, so that was nice.

Wellman‘s pub and rooftop is a great place to spend an evening with friends. They have done an excellent job with the ambience.
Their menu has many healthy choices and salads as well as all the red meat options that you would expect at a pub. I had the seared tuna salad which was absolutely delicious.
I would have given five stars except the kitchen made mistakes and three out of our four dinners. I’m sure it’s just because they were busy and rushing as the food was still delicious and well presented.

We debated choosing Wellman’s based on some reviews but we are grateful we did! Our service was great, the food came quick and was delicious. We will be back.

Really enjoyed every part of my first experience here. The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was fantastic. The food was incredible. And of course the drinks were ice cold which is always nice.
What made it even better was how helpful everyone was when we told them that the cool temps were going to make being on the top deck uncomfortable. We were quickly moved to the downstairs patio and the heaters were turned out. After we closed out our tickets we were allowed to mingle on the main floor patio and weren’t pushed out the door like at some places.
I look forward to visiting again!
