Food, good but not over the top amazing as the reviews suggest. Drinks, not sure what the bartender was doing but none of the mixed drinks were good – not one, none of us drank them so money wasted.
Our server was very friendly and efficient.
Atmosphere – this place is more nice a hometown pub/restaurant than a place for fine dining. The crowd is more on the more mature side. The place had a stale, musty smell to it as well. Decor, it could use some help.
I go to the gym above the restaurant and in all these years have been tempted to try this place out. I see a coworker of mine there often, so my gym friend and I decided to go finally, we were not disappointed. A mutual friend gave us a heads up of her favorite meals and appetizers (peak chop with gorgonzola and the thai calamari). My friend ordered that main dish, it comes with a mound of mashed potatoes and veggies. Those were on the specials menu. I also got salmon which came with rice and mixed veggies. The portion sizes are great! Also we had a basket of bread with a chunk of some really good crunchy crusty slices of bread. No drinks menu, but full bar. My drink was a Moscow mule. It was good, but could been stronger (the ginger beer and the alcohol! ). The waitress was great, wonderful with recommendations! The ambiance was cozy. It was a Wednesday evening and the place was full. But you could still hold a conversation at your table without yelling or disturbing a table next to you. There are two bathrooms. Both were clean, spacious. We tried a dessert. It was a crepe with banana and white Russian ice cream. The ice cream I could eat by itself. Perfect flavor, hard ice cream. The rest was just okay. The crepe was good but the chocolate was like a dark chocolate, so there was no sweetness to it. And the banana was not ripe at all, so again no sweetness to it at all. We each took a bite and were done with it. But hey you can’t win them all and there were plenty of other desserts, so I guess we’ll try them all in time as we already agreed we’re coming back!
It’s a must to try this restaurant out. Also a little hint their bread is amazing and be sure to save room for their banana crape and ice cream to die for. Just an excellent restaurant.
