We ventured into this very local, no-frills seafood restaurant in George Town and loved the experience. Everything felt wonderfully authentic and full of life. You choose your seafood from tanks with live lobsters, crabs, and prawns, then order drinks separately — all part of the fun.
The food was fantastic. The prawn curry was a real highlight, rich and flavorful, and even won over our usually picky kids.
My husband chose two small lobsters, perfectly cooked and served with a delicious garlic sauce and fresh, crisp vegetables.
To top it off, we were surprised with complimentary ice cream at the end.
A memorable, adventurous meal and a great way to experience local seafood in George Town.

This restaurant has been exist for at least 30 years although at different location. Finally went back and eat again after more than 20 years. Restaurant is crowded on Friday evening. We tried the steam fish, tomato crab, cuttle fish and coconut prawn. The coconut prawn is a must try. The curry is not too strong but taste just nice. Tomato crab is delicious, and crab is fresh. Steam fish is fresh as well. Worth to try if you are nearby.

It’s very crowded during my visit on a weekend dinner time. This place has now become a famous tourist spot. Very few locals will come & dine here. For such crowd, service is considered fast. Ordering is at the counter. Food portion is big, price is reasonable. Tastes wise just average. Their dishes are mostly on the salty side. Nice place with very good price! Staff not well in English but very helpful and good service. I’ve ordered a big bowl of Tom Yam prawns with only 39 RM! Morning glory was good. Oyster omelet is OK but it’s would be great if a little more salty. Squid with salted egg is one NOT recommended dish. Location was very close to Chewjetty easy to find.

Had a really satisfying meal at Da Shu Xia! We ordered the steamed egg mantis, 4 heavenly king with sambal, stir-fried pork belly, coconut prawns, and salted egg octopus. Every single dish was flavorful, well-cooked and so savory. The seafood was fresh, the pork belly was fragrant, and the vegetables had just the right spice.

Seafood very fresh. Price quite reasonable. Too crowded & hot. Queue up wait for table still ok around 10 minutes. They cook quite fast. Not waiting for too long. Famous nice food sure will have a lot ppl. Nice place for having fresh seafood.
