Man, on a chilly, drizzly day, this menu hits the spot. Ordered roast beef sandwich plate. Couple pieces of bread, mashed potatoes in the center, all covered with the most tender roast beef, and savory brown gravy. This is the closest to Grandma’s cooking I have ever purchased. Service was amazing. Nothing fancy, amazing food, clean, just the way we should be doing it like we used to. To top it off, the bill came, but was topped with a darn good, fresh hot chocolate chip cookie!

Felt like eating at grandma’s house. Our waitress, Linda made us feel right at home, with a friendly smile! The food was just as good! I ordered a double Bison burger with cheese (10/10) and my wife got the Swiss mushroom cheeseburger and it was amazing.
Service was quick. Not a long wait even tho the place was nearly full. Great place to stop by for a home-cooked road trip meal!

Food was plentiful and seasoned well, definitely recommend. Service was a little spotty with equipment failures but didn’t affect my meal. Atmosphere internally was fine, just a little confusing finding the front door vs the back door, as the BIG sign is on the back of the restaurant.

Great Family place to sit down and eat , I was particularly impressed with the cordial and well mannered young man who was our waiter. I would recommend the country fired steak , it will not disappoint! Also the roast beef sandwich was delicious. I was surprised when freshly baked cookies came with the bill , put a smile on my face . Thanks will be back

Surprised at all the great reviews! My boyfriend ordered the “bison” burger. It was just a frozen beef patty. My mother ordered a BLT, no mayo and barely there bacon. I had the hot roast beef sandwich which most definitely consisted of some sort of frozen or refrigerated mashed potatoes and a nice long hair! They have a large menu online, but don’t advertise that Sundays are a limited one page menu. Also, the burgers don’t come with any sort of setup, as far as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles…

Early in lunch hour arrival, fries arrived cold, chicken fried sandwich plain with no flavor, hot roast beef sandwich hot but gravy looked congealed as if packaged. Sodas absolutely flat, no carbonation. Won’t be returning.

Welcome Home Cafe lives up to it’s name! Forget eating at the fast food restaurants that are around. Stop in for their Chicken Fried Sandwich with bread and butter pickles and fries. Be sure to save room for a warm, delicious chocolate chip cookie that you receive with your bill!

We chose this place based on Google reviews and my husband’s love of a good hot roast beef sandwich (beef manhattan). We certainly didn’t feel welcomed here. Kansas isn’t home to us, so maybe that was why. We felt that our server would have been just as happy (?) if we hadn’t chosen to come in. Maybe she was having a bad day … I don’t know.
Hubby had the hot roast beef sandwich which comes over mashed potatoes, and he said the roast beef flavor was exceptional although not as tender as some. I had fish and chips, with sweet potato fries. The fish was overcooked, but the sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve ever had.
Although the food was fairly tasty, I doubt we would choose to come back due to service.

Welcome Home Cafe is a small restaurant located in the Antiques Mall in Colby. Very nice waitress and good iced tea. Salad bar hosted a variety of veggies but the lettuce was mostly brown. The fried fish was way too breaded and chicken fried chicken was drowning in white gravy. Maybe this was a little too “homey” for me. The redemption: two warm chocolate chip cookies.
