A review mostly about their durian cake: Took a chance and was quite pleased by the outcome. Real durian chunks mixed with durian cream in the center layer with typical not-to-sweet whipped cream outer layer and topping with some fruits. The cake consistency was similar to your typical castella or sponge cake. Very bouncy and light.

Amazingly quick turnaround. I called right when they opened and they had it ready for pick up same day at 4 pm.

They also offer taro fruit cake but the manager recommends calling at least a day or two prior for preparation. Will have to try that one next to relive my childhood taro cake memories 🙂

Chinese bbq favorites: roast duck, roast pork, chicken feet

Pastry favorites: sponge cake, pork floss (dried pork) sponge cake, and sesame red bean ball

We called to try them out.
The lady answered the phone “Hello”
(We weren’t even sure if we got the right place because NOMALLY a business identifies themselves to their customers)

We then asked “Can we place an order”

She replied “what are you ordering?”

(Again – no thank you please or professional salutation)

We let her know it was 2 orders of rice (to keep it simple)

She answered “I’m not making rice right now”

Who th runs a biz this way?

Stopped here to get some roasted duck, crispy pork and bakeries. The pork was a bit salty. The roasted duck was not what I was expecting. Definitely will be back if we visit again for some bakeries and their pre made items.

Bought roasted duck there a few days ago and they put a whole bunch of duck ass and neck in it, which made the whole box stink. Was wondering if they are tired of their frequent customers and trying everything to drive them away.

First review : Love it. We are taking a big group of friends next week.

Latest update: Still love it. We tried the bakery next door after dinner this time also. I didn’t realize it, but I’m pretty sure I’ve been there about 4years ago with my boyfriend. The food was still amazing. And, the wait staff is always very nice and accomadating. I don’t understand why the others that rated one star did so. Maybe they are the kind of people that just like to complain, because I see nothing to complain about at all! We will be back.

Dishes tried and loved:

Jelly fish
Spicy beef appetizer
Seafood stir fry with chives
Tofu with pork soup
Salt and pepper squid
Roasted duck
Orange chicken
Sesame chicken
A combo fried rice with ham, chicken, and shrimp

Excellent food, generous portions, easy and affordable delivery. Ordered a couple hours in advance and it was delivered exactly on time, hot and not soggy from steam (it hadn’t sat around at all).

This place is no longer a dine-in restaurant as only their bakery/bbq section is open. They have the standard items you expect from a Chinese bakery. I feel like a lot of the bakery items are hit or miss. The roast duck tasted bland, but the price is not bad. The female owner has a brother who owns the other Wei Hong that I like more.

This restaurant has some of the best Chinese seafood dishes in St Louis like lobster with ginger, steamed mandarin bass, and salt and pepper squid. Unfortunately, their service is horrible and slow. You will end up wasting a lot of time waiting for service. They also pile a lot of unused furniture in the front of the restaurant. The restaurant has a nice high ceiling. The owner modified a previous theater into a restaurant so the layout is a little bit different. They also has some dim sum selections during the weekend. I would say their food deserves a 5 stars but their service is a one star.

We’ve been told that the restaurant was closed for about 2 months ago due to no chef/cook. Bakery still open. Noticed of the taste is not as good as in the past. Siomai is tasteless same as buchi or so called sesame ball with bean filling. Steam white bun with chicken meatball /hardboiled egg filling is hard with small amount. Pork floss roll is still good. Roast pork lack of seasoning but we don’t want to be salty, the skin is not crunchy. Roasted duck is still good. Hope they should need to continue keeping the quality of taste & texture of their food products please. This is just a comment from before & most recent visit experience.

1. Decor is lacking. There is nothing but table and chairs. The entrance was more of a storage area. 2. We order the ginger and onion liberated which cost $42. That was a waste of money. No flavor. My wife can make it better for less. The steam bass which cost $27 was also bland and the fish was small. The Chinese broccoli stir fry was nothing but steamed with oyster sauce. The salted fish with chicken fried rice was the only good thing. The bill came to $97. Not worth it. 3. They only brought the rice and broccoli dishes out first and we waited 20 min for the other two. 4. Wait staff just drop the food off and never ask if we were ok or refill our drinks. Don’t waste you money here. All you other 5 stars rating individuals not sure what went thru your mind when you gave that rating.
