We The People Taproom brings bold American street-food favorites and a modern self-pour tap wall to the community—celebrating the flavors discovered while traveling the highways and urban areas of the United States. Inspired by city experiences, regional icons, and independent eateries, our menu showcases crave-worthy dishes like the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Pacific Coast White Shrimp Tacos, Chicago Hanger Steak Frites, and Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, paired with a rotating selection of craft beer, wine, and specialty cocktails on tap.

We ordered a pretzel appetizer, two entrées, a kids meal, plus beer and wine. A few of the beer taps were empty, which was a little disappointing. We also noticed guests bringing their used glasses back up to the bar area themselves — not the most sanitary look and definitely something that gave us pause. I highly recommend some type of signage about using a new glass.
The pretzel appetizer was just okay. Nothing bad, just nothing memorable.
The kids meal and one entrée came out together (the entree I initially ordered was sold out), and both were hot (always a plus). The mac and cheese was described as lacking flavor. Even a little salt and pepper would have helped. The shrimp po’boy, however, was pretty decent. The shrimp tasted freshly breaded and the remoulade had good flavor.
Unfortunately, the second entrée didn’t arrive until after the rest of the table had completely finished eating, so we ended up taking it to go. It was under-seasoned and fairly unremarkable.
Our waitress was very apologetic throughout the meal. She did a great job staying on top of drink refills and checking in on us. She was attentive, clearly working hard, and doing her best which is ultimately the reason we landed at 3 stars.
They have a large menu with many offerings, but I’d rather see half the options and better tasting food.
We know new places often work through early kinks, so we’d be open to trying them again down the road to see how things settle in.

I posted a 360° photo, so don’t forget to drag your screen around and look inside like you’re standing there. It’s a cool setup and a fun concept we don’t really have in Rockwall yet.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt electric. The interior design is exceptionally well executed and thoughtfully put together, creating a space that feels elevated yet welcoming. It truly enhances the overall dining experience.
About half of our table ordered the steak frites and burgers, and everything was excellent. The menu offers a wide range of options, and we sincerely hope they continue refining it. This area has been needing a place like this, somewhere that feels vibrant and well designed, yet still comfortable for families and friends to gather.
Although it is a tap room, it is also very family friendly. The front doors were wide open, the energy was high, and despite how busy it was when we arrived, we were seated within 10 to 15 minutes after a reservation opened up. The staff handled everything smoothly.
Overall, it was an extremely fun night out, and we will absolutely be back, whether for a date night or another family gathering with friends.
$30+ for 36 ounces of drinks from the tap is kind of steep especially if some of drinks are unavailable and the beer pours out foam which you then get charged for. The beers that we did try weren’t that cold, flavor was great but you have to drink it fast before it warms up. The food was okay, calamari was great. The portions are ok but you’re not given much of the sides like the fries or tortilla chips, we counted and were given 8 chips with 3 tacos. We had high hopes for this place but sadly we won’t be back again.
