The day we visited was either a soft opening, or they had just recently opened. We understand service isn’t expected to be flawless right out of the gate.

We ordered a pretzel appetizer, two entrées, a kids meal, plus beer and wine. A few of the beer taps were empty, which was a little disappointing. We also noticed guests bringing their used glasses back up to the bar area themselves — not the most sanitary look and definitely something that gave us pause. I highly recommend some type of signage about using a new glass.

The pretzel appetizer was just okay. Nothing bad, just nothing memorable.

The kids meal and one entrée came out together (the entree I initially ordered was sold out), and both were hot (always a plus). The mac and cheese was described as lacking flavor. Even a little salt and pepper would have helped. The shrimp po’boy, however, was pretty decent. The shrimp tasted freshly breaded and the remoulade had good flavor.

Unfortunately, the second entrée didn’t arrive until after the rest of the table had completely finished eating, so we ended up taking it to go. It was under-seasoned and fairly unremarkable.

Our waitress was very apologetic throughout the meal. She did a great job staying on top of drink refills and checking in on us. She was attentive, clearly working hard, and doing her best which is ultimately the reason we landed at 3 stars.

They have a large menu with many offerings, but I’d rather see half the options and better tasting food.
We know new places often work through early kinks, so we’d be open to trying them again down the road to see how things settle in.

Went to try We The People in rockwall , all the food was amazing. My hot dog was one of the best I’ve ever had. The fries that come with it are better than your average restaurant fries 10/10! My son got the fish n chips and I had to take my “ dad tax “ and the breading on it really suprised me. Way better than your average kids plate! They also have a tap wall that features beer and wine! Today is the first day it’s open and staff is really on top of it , can’t even tell it’s their first day open!

Nice place with a great atmosphere! The seating at the bar is excellent and the food was solid. They have a really cool tap beer wall with a lot of variety, wish they had Miller on tap. Still a great spot overall!

New North Rockwall Restaurant & Bar Now Open

Rockwall County folks – heads up

There’s a brand new spot in North Rockwall that quietly opened, and a lot of people don’t even realize it’s there yet.

We The People Taproom just opened at 165 E Quail Run Rd (past YMCA & Kroger area) — and it’s Rockwall’s first self pour taproom.

You grab a card

Pour your own beer, wine, or cider (as little or as much as you want)

Full bar if beer ain’t your thang

Sit down to a full scratch kitchen menu inspired by street food from all over the country

Outdoor Seating as well

Burgers, sandwiches, shrimp & grits, salmon, tacos, apps, desserts…..it’s way more than just a “tap wall.”

I posted a 360° photo, so don’t forget to drag your screen around and look inside like you’re standing there. It’s a cool setup and a fun concept we don’t really have in Rockwall yet.

Family owned. Open now.

Worth checking out if you like trying something new and supporting local.

We had our book club here and loved our experience. The restaurant is open and beautifully decorated. We had Benjamin for our server and he was very knowledgeable about the food, gave great recommendations, and was very funny and personable. Our food was unique and amazing ….we will definitely be coming back.

Celebrated my birthday here and loved it! The food was delicious and flavorful, the staff was super friendly—they even surprised me with a birthday card. The self-serve beer taps were a fun highlight; pouring your own by the ounce is cool and convenient. Great casual spot—definitely coming back!

We visited last night with a group of friends and all of our kids, ten of us in total, and had a fantastic experience.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt electric. The interior design is exceptionally well executed and thoughtfully put together, creating a space that feels elevated yet welcoming. It truly enhances the overall dining experience.

About half of our table ordered the steak frites and burgers, and everything was excellent. The menu offers a wide range of options, and we sincerely hope they continue refining it. This area has been needing a place like this, somewhere that feels vibrant and well designed, yet still comfortable for families and friends to gather.

Although it is a tap room, it is also very family friendly. The front doors were wide open, the energy was high, and despite how busy it was when we arrived, we were seated within 10 to 15 minutes after a reservation opened up. The staff handled everything smoothly.

Overall, it was an extremely fun night out, and we will absolutely be back, whether for a date night or another family gathering with friends.

We ate lunch here last week during their soft opening and the best thing was the service from our server Darlene. She was very attentive and helpful. She was great!

$30+ for 36 ounces of drinks from the tap is kind of steep especially if some of drinks are unavailable and the beer pours out foam which you then get charged for. The beers that we did try weren’t that cold, flavor was great but you have to drink it fast before it warms up. The food was okay, calamari was great. The portions are ok but you’re not given much of the sides like the fries or tortilla chips, we counted and were given 8 chips with 3 tacos. We had high hopes for this place but sadly we won’t be back again.
