For the last three months I’ve been ordering the Egusi with fufu and smoked turkey about once a week. I find it to be absolutely delicious, though I haven’t had this meal anywhere else. Wazobia is local for me, they always have my order ready in no time and everyone I’ve encountered there is always polite. The smoked turkey has so much flavor and the portions are huge ( I usually eat for lunch and dinner). Pro tip: mix the Egusi well to maximize the flavor profile. Love this meal here and I would say don’t let negative reviews on the Egusi deter you, try it for yourself before drawing a conclusion.

I was passing by this place on my not usual way home from work when I decided to stop and try Nigerian food for the first time. And I’m glad I did!
First the food. Delicious! I have a feeling most people come in already knowing what they want or at least speak Yoruba. The menu does not have any descriptions, but there are a few pictures on the wall to help. Since this was my first time having Nigerian food, I asked them to choose for me, only telling them “no fish or rice” and that “I like meat and vegetables”. Was rewarded with a healthy portion of efo riru (Nigerian spinach stew) with added meat (cubes of stewed beef) and a softball sized portion of hot fufu. Cost $17 and I was stuffed.
Although they gave me utensils, I ate it traditionally with my hands scooping the stew together with the fufu. The stew was really good! Very flavorful and not overly spicy. There was plenty of vegetables and was cooked just right. If I had to offer a suggestion – the added meat could have been smaller and in more even pieces. But it’s very small complaint.

Meal was ready quickly and was packed up securely with napkins and utensils.
Atmosphere : There are three or so booths to eat at, with lots of napkins and salt shakers, but it’s really a take it to go place – a “hole in the wall” neighborhood place where your money is going to the food, not the decor. I ate in because I live more than 40 minutes away and was starving.
There is a handwashing station so you can wash your hands before and after eating. Also got to watch some news on the large screen tv.
Value : $17 dollars and I was happily stuffed. I could have made into two meals but was very hungry. I ordered a Second portion to take home. 100% Would go back!

Food portions are huge! I was quite surprised. The jollof rice and chicken was okay. It could have been a little more flavorful. The soup was freaking delicious! Must get with fish.

Authentic & Fresh Nigerian food. Most orders are made from scratch so I recommend calling ahead to place an order to allow time for preparation. And especially for Moi-Moi, call early before they are sold out for the day. They never disappoint when I’m craving Nigerian food.

Was my 1st time ever trying this type of food. I had the Egusi Soup and chicken with rice. The food was decent but I still have yet to compare it to Others. I can say that the chicken and rice was very savory The only problem was that they literally gave me about 8 cups of rice with with 2 or three bite size pieces of chicken Very unproportioned. Other than that the food was actually very delicious

I ordered jollof rice & chicken today and the chicken was so hard I couldn’t even bite into it. The rice was okay I just went to Popeyes to get different chicken which is crazy cuz I spent $15 literally just for the rice tray. Great food. Friendly staff. The place is small and has the feel of grandma’s kitchen. Prices are reasonable. If you don’t mind the decor but like good authentic cuisine, this place is for you!
