Honestly, Wayne’s is such a solid neighborhood gem. The fish is always super fresh and the cuts are way more generous than most places in the area.
I’m still dreaming about the firefly squid I had here a while back—it was easily one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten. I haven’t seen it back on the menu recently, but it just goes to show they really know how to pick the best seasonal stuff. Definitely keep an eye on their specials board for rare finds like that.
Great vibes, friendly staff, and just overall a really dependable spot for high-quality sushi. 10/10 recommend.

We found this place while looking for a new sushi spot and we were not disappointed. It’s a small restaurant but the staff is so friendly and welcoming. It was our first time and although their English wasn’t very good they did their best to recommend some rolls and tell us the special. The rolls are huge and so are the sashimi pieces. All the fish was super fresh and they came out relatively quick but didn’t feel like they were made in a rush. Bathroom was clean and overall it was a pleasant experience. For sure our new sushi spot…oh and you get complimentary edamame when you dine in!

The quality of the sushi here is just excellent. For this visit, we tried the Chirashi Don which had 6 different kinds of sushi, a mini unagi & a tamago. Pretty good selection & definitely worth $28. And that unagi tasted like they made it themselves! We also tried two different types of roll, Kamakaze & Salmon Skin. Both were good but Kamakaze was what we’d order again.

We were happily stuffed with Combo B! Quality & selection good. More than enough for 3 adults. I’m glad the American name on a sushi restaurant did not stop us from going

Best sushi in Pleasanton. They have varieties of toro (salmon, bluefin tuna, yellow tail etc) and most importantly, the food is very fresh. In addition, the slice of the meat is thick and the price is reasonable. Is it worth the price!
They also have beef tongue, but the taste is not as good as expected (too heavy soju type favor ). In all, it is a restaurant I would come back again.

Water tasted like cleaning chemicals, miso was lukewarm and fishy, veggie tempura was okay some of the root vegetables were undercooked but the batter was nice, salmon nigiri was tough to bite through and just not very pleasant to chew, albacore was stringy and so fishy and I had to spit it out, the nigiri rice fell apart when I picked up each piece. Staff was very kind but food has me not wanting to come back.

Really really good fish. The belly cuts are some of the best I’ve had. Lil hole in the wall with no crowds. Love it

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Pleasanton. I like to eat here for lunch, it is not crowded and has a good selection of fresh fish. I always go for some nigiri, I love the Uni w/ Quail Egg, Aji, Kanpachi, Tamago, and Maguro. The Red Mountain Roll is my favorite, I also like the Four Seasons and Salmon Lover. I would highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area. The staff here is great and very friendly.

Sushi and sashimi just ok. Not as good as pre COVID-19. Not sure what changed. Ordered Combo B and a roll.
