Food overall was good and the staff were very nice. They did have a good selection of gluten free and vegetarian options and it was all very clearly marked.
When we first got there we went in through the back and were told we weren’t in the right place so we moved to the host stand at the front. It took a really long time for someone to come over.
We had to ask for waters and couple times.
We heard this place was good option for gluten free, and were excited because a friend needs gluten free for medical reasons. Usually when it’s mentioned to staff they highlight items or be sure to keep plates separate, etc. Our server just looked at her and said “ok?…”. My friend asked if they could mark that she’s GF for the kitchen and the server just looked confused again. We go to many places that highlight GF options and this is very common
After we ordered our server mentioned it could take a long time to get our food. It was not busy so I’m not sure why. I kind of wish we were told that initially.
The food did take awhile and just came out in a really odd order. Some food came out a lot faster than others so some in our party were eating for awhile while others watched. I don’t mind a little staggering but this was odd. It made the people served first a bit uncomfortable just eating in front of others but after we were warned about wait times, we didn’t want to risk waiting and food getting cold.
Then the rest of the entrees came out. But our cheese curds still hadn’t arrived. They came while we were eating our entrees. There almost wasn’t a good place to put them on the table, and since we had our entrees we weren’t given separate plates for our apps. I know it’s all going in the same place, it was just really odd.
We were there for quite a bit because of the weird food timing and not once were our plates cleared.
While my fish fry was good, I was very disappointed in the portion- probably the smallest I’ve ever seen in Milwaukee. It also looked nothing like their social promotions, which partly drew us in.
They do have a parking lot and does have good ADA accessibility.
Let’s talk food — the Dawn’s Cornbread with Honey Butter was to die for and the cocktails were perfection. Every detail, from the menu to the music, just flowed. It’s rare to find a place that feels both elevated and down-to-earth, but The Wayfinder nailed it.
Whether you’re looking for date night vibes, girls’ night out, or a relaxed dinner with amazing food and drinks, this is the spot. Can’t wait to come back soon!

The staff were friendly and laid back, but still attentive! We tried the “Pickle Fries”, “Carne con Elotes”, and also the Bargain Burger. All were great but the ‘Carne’ dish felt especially inventive and more than worth the $9 price tag.
In terms of drinks- so many fabulous options. Can speak to the beer (Shout out to the ‘Damn! That’s Good’) their Old Fashioned, as well as the Hard Root Beer. All were very tasty!
Excited to try this spot for dinner or another happy hour very soon!!
The food at happy hour is globally inspired and upscale. The drinks are inventive. Atmosphere (including music) is perfect.
Thanks Dylan, Ashley, and Kevin for making the night great.
PS if you go during the holiday you Must try the cranberry cannoli!
We were welcomed by a very friendly bartender.
Our server was on the ball, super helpful.
She and the owner went over a little about the menu with our group.
The drinks were great.
The food, we shared a few small plates and wow!
Favorites were the Thai lettuce wraps, the Carne Con Elotes and of course the jambalaya with corn bread!
Honestly one my favorite Milwaukee dining experiences.
Looking forward to going back soon.
