Absolutely delicious. Fancier Freddy’s and Steak and Shake. Orders a kids meal, A.1. Steakhouse burger(2nd photo) and cheese curds. Lots of flavor and good texture in the A.1. Burger. Also: try the Strawberry hibiscus lemonade! The store was also very clean.

We visited Wayback Burgers in Lakeland, Tennessee, a suburb just outside Memphis, after it was recommended to us by a local friend. We’ve had Wayback Burgers before in Dallas, so we were familiar with the brand and had good expectations coming in.
We ordered four cheesy burgers, and the meat quality was very good. The burger patties were tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The burgers were definitely cheesy, and the buns were turned inside out, which I understand is part of the Cheesy Burger style. It was different, but it worked.
For sides, we had tater tots and fries, both of which were solid and well cooked. We also ordered fried pickles, which the kids absolutely loved. The chili cheese dog was another highlight — flavorful, filling, and done right.
One of the best parts of Wayback Burgers, especially this location, is that it’s halal. That alone makes it a go to spot for us and many others. Restaurants that choose to offer halal options truly help serve the entire community, and that effort is always appreciated.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall experience was pleasant from start to finish. The sauces were good across the board, and the Wayback Golden Sauce really stood out.
Overall, this was a great experience and lived up to our previous visits at other Wayback locations. I would definitely recommend the Lakeland Wayback Burgers if you’re in the area and looking for a solid halal burger spot.

What a great find! We only knew about this place because we had dinner the other night at a restaurant a couple of doors down.
This has a smaller menu, but with some interesting burger options. Everything is cooked to order and what was great was that it didn’t come out too fast where they just threw the food together, nor did it take too long. We both got the double cheeseburger and the cashier let’s you know exactly what it comes with so you can customize if necessary, which I appreciated. The burgers were perfect. Well seasoned patties, quality toppings, and a soft, but firm bun that doesn’t disintegrate while eating. We were both very impressed, and agreed this was the best place we’ve eaten since coming to TN two months ago.
The staff was great! Everyone was very friendly and attentive. They did a good job keeping busy even though the shop was slow at the time.
A couple of downers: the chocolate milkshake was weak on the chocolate. We even asked to be sure it was chocolate because it looked and tasted like vanilla. I would suggest asking for double chocolate next time. Also, the app is not easy to navigate. After installing it on my phone, it was difficult to add my receipt to get the points. It said they were having difficulties finding my recept number and to try again later.
I would highly recommend coming here. It’s in a new shopping center, so I hope they are able to attract more people as more shops open.

The food has always been on point. Absolutely delicious. I’m choosing to leave a review because of the service my family received this evening. We specifically chose to eat her because we wanted milk shakes and although we arrived at 8pm, an hour before closing, we were told the shake machine had been shut down for the night. When we questioned the timing we were told they had to get ready to close. We ordered our food anyway, but will probably choose a different restaurant next time we want milkshakes with our dinner.

Facility was very nice and clean -including the bathroom. The fries were incredibly good and I liked the garlic seasoning on mine. The burger was the star of the show. Very fresh and was so soft. The area of the restaurant has quite a bit of parking and is in a nice area. Will be returning.

Food was amazing! The server that brought our food on Jan. 16th never spoke when she came up to the table. She just dropped it on the table. Didn’t bring any of the dips that we paid for. We asked her and she only brought some of them. While the food was great, the rudeness of this employee made the meal very uncomfortable. We placed a delivery order and it was marked as delivered, however we never received it. We contacted the store and the young lady said there was nothing they could do. The order was placed via the Wayback website. I asked the foreign manager what her name was and she stated it’s only “Susan” and refused to give me her name. The young black girl who answered was extremely rude as well. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service and the fact that they think they can just keep the funds for an order that was not delivered.

Wanted to eat out but their AC must have been down so it was really hot in there. Should have just left when I realized it but decided to order for take-out. The milkshake came out before the food was ready so I started to drink it but it had a horrible taste to it. Like the machine was burning up and imparted fumes into the milkshake. I asked for a refund for the shake and was looked at like I was a massive inconvenience and didn’t receive any sort of apology. Reading the reviews I can see that others have had the same issue so this isn’t me just making it up. They were so rude about it! The burger was fine. The fries were below average but edible. I really wanted to like this place but I won’t be going back.
