The food at Wack Burger in Evans Mills is excellent, and my family genuinely enjoys your burgers.
Unfortunately, the customer service we experienced on January 23, 2026, was extremely
disappointing and overshadowed what should have been a positive visit.
My wife and daughter entered the establishment to place a lunch order totaling over $60. During
checkout, the register displayed a message stating, “Get with an associate for further assistance.”
We immediately notified the female employee at the counter about the issue.
Her response was vague and delivered in a tone that made it unclear whether she was speaking to
us or to other employees. We stood there waiting for direction, unsure how to proceed. When I
asked again, she finally explained, after several minutes, that the register was experiencing
problems. By that point, we had already waited nearly ten minutes on a high-dollar order with no
clear communication.
What was most frustrating was her demeanor and mannerism throughout the interaction. She
appeared disengaged, unwelcoming, and indifferent. It made us feel as though our presence was an inconvenience rather than valued as customers. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was very noticeable and uncomfortable. This entire interaction should be visible on camera if footage is reviewed.
I expressed my frustration at the counter not out of anger, but out of disappointment in how the
situation was handled. There was no sense of ownership, apology, or effort to resolve the issue in a respectful manner.
I also want to note that I come from a professional food service background, so I understand what
quality customer service should look like. This experience did not meet those standards.
I am respectfully requesting that this employee receive additional training in customer service and
professional etiquette. Even in a locally owned business, kindness, communication, and
attentiveness go a long way in maintaining loyal customers.
I have served 17 years in the U.S. Military with a strong focus on service and professionalism,
which is why this experience felt especially discouraging. My wife and I truly enjoy your food, and that is the reason I am taking the time to share this feedback. The food is outstanding, but service matters just as much.
I hope this concern is addressed so future customers do not experience the same disappointment.
Taste is good. Better than the big chains. Reasonable prices.
So,
I asked if fries were done so i could just bring it with me at this point. The workers started to do this typical blame shifting amongst themselves while I’m standing there waiting. It was safe for me to assume that i wasn’t getting my fries in reasonable time, so i told them, “Don’t worry about it”. The gentleman, who seems to be the manager, called me to come back in a manner that I did something wrong lmao. He said “10 mins isn’t long”. I replied, “not for you, but it is for me”. He seems visibly triggered, and he added “i was about to accommodate you but it is your attitude”. I knew where this was going. I hurt man’s ego. But I couldn’t care less about random man’s hurt ego just like the fries they served me. The man tried to hand me the fries, but I declined. God knows what they did to the fries at this point. I said I’m good. He takes it back. Basically, i didn’t get my fries but got a free discipline class about my attitude from a random dude who claims 10 mins isn’t long to fix their cold fries as a manager of a burger chain. There were two other customers and 5-6 workers at the time. I did not enjoy the encounter, nor another man’s tantrum. Spent 18 dollars for a burger and a coke that tasted like a burger and a coke. The lines in the McDonald started to make much more sense as I drove off.
