Have been meaning to try this place out and so glad we finally did! We had the Cajun burgers – extra spicy, and it did not disappoint. They were juicy and so full of flavor!! We also enjoyed the cheesy fries and chicken tenders, which were both crispy and delicious. The restaurant was clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Cannot wait to come back here!

I love that this Wayback Burgers location serves 100% halal meat — it’s amazing to finally enjoy the full menu with confidence! My friends and I came here after a Poconos getaway and this place did not disappoint. (1 hour from Poconos). The food is always fresh, the staff are friendly, and the burgers taste incredible. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great halal burgers! Also please try their hot dogs! 10/10

Hands down the best burgers I’ve had probably ever. I was truly blown away with how good the Cajun burger was. Tater tots were very good too. Just the right amount of crispiness. Highly recommend if your craving a burger.

I recently visited Wayback Burger and had an amazing experience! The burgers were cooked to perfection, juicy, and full of flavor. The menu offers a great variety of options, and the sides, especially the fries and onion rings, were crispy and delicious. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service, making sure our order was just right. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal out. I was visiting the area from Clifton and was so glad to find a Wayback close by. The food was absolutely delicious. My burger was cooked perfectly and everything tasted really fresh. The owner was super nice and took the time to go around and make sure everyone was happy with their meal, which stood out to me, especially for a national chain. I would definitely recommend stopping here for a quick meal.

Took the fam last night and now I’m wondering why I haven’t been before. Son and I had delicious burgers and wife rocked the chicken blt sandwich. Everything was fantastic. Staff was friendly and accommodating to all of our requests. For the quality and amount of food you get it’s very fairly priced. If you are looking for a burger in the area this should be your first stop.

We were disappointed. Service was wonderful, everyone is so nice and attentive. Atmosphere, gosh we LOVE those 2K’s throwbacks of MCR, Gorillaz, Fall Out Boy etc. the place is incredibly clean but small and kind of cramped, wouldn’t mind better lighting in the back either.
The food. Best fried pickles in Sussex, cheese curds were a little overdone but not bad at all. Cinnamon Toast Milkshake was delicious and so rich.
The Classic Burger with the wayback sauce was absolutely wonderful and full of flavor, the patty for how thin it was though was a little overcooked. Granted, they originally only came out with the apps and the chicken sandwich and admitted to overlooking my husbands burger and that they didn’t realize it was on the ticket.
Now, onto the Chicken BLT sandwich. HEAVILY Disappointed. I went in with high expectations because it came so highly recommended by everyone on the Facebook Sussex county group pages; I was excited not to have to drive 40 minutes to SuperChix in Rockaway for a chicken sandwich…HOWEVER, the Breading was appalling, they even tried setting it up on the plate hiding under the fry container that it wouldn’t be noticeable. Bread was hard and overtoasted to the point it was dark. The bacon had black in it and hard/overcooked, the chicken was dry and overcooked and the breading as you can see from the pictures were dark and falling apart. As a former restaurant entrepreneur, I would’ve never let chicken sandwiches leave the kitchen like this. Subpar..it left that charred taste in the back of my mouth. I didn’t finish the sandwich or the bacon. I’d like to think maybe we caught them on a bad day, it was a 40 minute wait time. Maybe they had the heat too high on the fryer or they were so busy trying to keep up with the rush that they weren’t fast enough trying to keep up with all the orders after slapping something on the grill or in the fryer, it’s a small kitchen it seems with multiple cooks and they probably have everything cooking at once. We left and came back after placing our order, no big deal at all. I would’ve been fine waiting an hour or more if it meant my food came out with more care. Execution needs to be reworked.
If you want a good chicken sandwich, I’d save your money and just drive to Rockaway. However, the burgers are a good change of pace from Cow Patties or if you don’t want to drive to Smashburger and they have much better pricing for a Sussex County fast burger place.

The food is good. The burger is fresh and old-fashioned smash style. The fries, tots and onion rings are fresh and crisp. The drink choices are diverse. Solid on the food. The lobby is clean and basic – good, no issues.
My only gripe is the pricing. It’s expensive. I know things are more expensive – I get that. However, IMO, there is no reason why a burger, fries and a coke should cost almost $20. You guys have got to find a way to bring your prices down.

What a hidden gem. And also a little hidden. This place is right next to Firestone in Newton. If you are driving and looking for it you might not see it. But make the stop and go here. It’s very worth it.
It quaint and cute on the inside. The cheesy burger was exactly as described a burger with grilled cheese it was excellent. I personally don’t prefer all the extras on a burger. We also got the onion rings and fries. Onion rings were A+ and so were the fries. My mom got a chicken sandwich which she said was great. The staff was extremely friendly with the menu and explaining what was what. Also I was pleasantly surprised at the price I was willing to spend $50 but for the 2 sandwiches and friend sand onion rings and 2 drinks it was $33. The owner even walked over and made some small talk which I really enjoyed it made it feel special. He also convinced me to get the milk shake. Again very worth it

Even though I’m not a food critic I think their food was delicious! I was served a meal that I couldn’t resist! The cheese curts were crunchy and the cheese was perfectly gooey. The burger was perfectly cooked and amazing! The fries were perfectly seasoned and had the perfect texture! If you’re looking for a good burger and other sides Wayback Burgers is the perfect place and area! Chefs kiss!!!
