Everything they make is delicious. They understand the right balance of flavors in their savory and sweet foods. I love that they have a ton of savory options as well as their sweet pastries. Even the plain croissants are amazing. Many of my friends request I bring their pastries to parties. They also offer tea and coffee. I enjoyed my chai latte when I dined in once.

Received a sweet Xmas gift box from a family member and wow. The blueberry cheese danish was spectacular and I tasted just a tease of the scone. Now I will torture myself by waiting to share the rest with my significant other.
We will now have to personally visit this very talented bakery.

I’m fortunately a regular and live nearby. I’ve tried everything in the place over the past year and it continues to be of the highest quality in all aspects!! Very fortunate to have this extraordinary place in Windham Maine! Thank you Hannah, Billie and Team!!!

FYI the most recent items of Cinnamon Rolls, Lemon Meringue Pie and Boston Cream Croissants with the chocolate ganache topping are to die for! and don’t forget to get a loaf of the incredible bread!

Had the sausage roll and the almond croissant the first time I went in… they were quite literally the best I have ever had. The sausage roll pastry was flaky and buttery and the pork was perfectly seasoned. I go back at least once a week and have the same plus some other delicious treat and have never been disappointed. We are so lucky to have waxwing close by… but even if it wasn’t I would travel for that Almond croissant… and since I am there… a few other items as well!

Waxwing is a GEM! Gone are the days when you have to drive into Portland to get an actually good coffee, croissant or freshly baked artisan bread. Co-owners are awesome, Hannah used to be the kitchen manager at Tandem and they also carry Tandem coffee and so excited Waxwing is just as amazing and delicious. Highly recommend. Also reasonably priced but high quality. The blueberry cream cheese danish I had was amazing, as was the lemon poppy olive oil cake and chocolate croissant. The quiche is really good too, generous portions and very hearty with a really nice flavor profile (one of the best I’ve had.) Can’t wait to go back (already been twice) and see this place thrive!

I can make two remarks. Everything I have had is delicious. The croissants are flaky and wonderful. The almond cookie the same as the croissants.
Thank you for not being open Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I would be in way more than I should be. A great addition to Windham, Maine.

Waxwing is a local treasure! The moment you step inside, the irresistible scent of fresh bread and pastries draws you in. Their selection is amazing—flaky croissants, chewy artisan sourdough, and the best cookies I’ve ever tasted, perfectly balanced in sweetness and texture. They are pouring delicious Tandem Coffee. Made with top-notch ingredients, everything screams quality. The staff is warm, helpful, and passionate about their craft. With a cozy vibe and locally sourced ingredients, Waxwing feels like home. A must-visit for anyone craving exceptional baked goods!

My husband and I really wanted to serve pastries and coffee before our Sunday morning wedding ceremony. Waxwing was both the closest and highest rated bakery in the area so we reached out. It’s easily one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding planning process. We ended up paying around $551 for enough pastries for about 60 people. Considering everything was handmade that morning and laminated pastries are not easy to make that’s a very reasonable price.

Apparently we were their first wedding but if they’d told us they’d done this a hundred times before I’d have believed them. What didn’t get eaten before the ceremony was brought to the reception. At the end of it we only had 2 croissants, 2 danishes, and 2 sausage roll halves leftover.

The staff here are passionate about their craft and are delightful to work with! They helped out with providing food prior to the wedding and my only complaint is that I was not able to have another almond croissant since those were the first to go! Thank you so much for elevating the day and adding to the memories! I plan on stopping by every time I am in town!
