This was my first time eating here, footnote. I’m not from this area. Had a group that went hiking and decided on Thai food after the hike. Went with the chicken yellow curry and Jazmyne rice. Overall, it was good and the service was very friendly. At the end, they brought out some snacks for dessert that were prepackaged.

I found everything about this place perfect. The food was enormously good, and the red curry with wild rice was something I would get again. The ambience is cute but also proper, with good lighting and interior design. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. I came across it on a walk, while I was touring the neighborhood for a brief work trip.

We ordered takeout from here last night it was awesome. We had Chicken Satay, Crispy Spring Rolls, Papaya Salad, Eggplant Basil, Pad See Ew, Drunken Noodle and Green Curry, Papaya Salad and Cucumber Salad. Everything was super fresh and tasty really good flavor the cucumber salad is a super good deal it was like $4 or something if I lived close that would be my snack. Lastly we had mango sticky rice, Thai Iced Tea and a Vietnamese Coffee. All for a little over $100 takeout. Would definitely do takeout again but next time we gotta eat in. I didn’t take a picture of my food plated but I did take a pic of leftovers so you know it’s a real review lol enjoy.

Tasty Thai food in a trendy, super cute bistro. We visited for takeout and had the fresh spring rolls, green curry, and Kana Moo Krob. They were all really yummy! The green curry has a good flavor, but is a bit on the sweet side, with green beans and eggplant. The kana moo krob had crispy pork belly and spicy greens. It’s a super cute spot for a date, and roughly $20 per dish. The only thing it’s missing is some cats to keep you company

Wawa Thai is a cute little Thai restaurant in Upper Diamond neighborhood of Oakland, CA. They pride themselves of serving authentic Northern Thai dishes. I came to grab a late lunch/early supper and was sat immediately.
Interior decor and atmosphere were cute and relaxing, respectively. Dine-in area was spacious albeit limited but it’s meant to be that way given this was a small restaurant. Moreover, their menu items were modest. I ordered a Pad Thai, Spring Rolls and Thai Iced Coffee. Both tasted great and very flavorful. Drink was refreshing.
Staff was amiable and assiduous. Service was on point. Prices were economically reasonable. Street parking only. Collectively, I can say this was a good Thai restaurant. I had a good dine-in experience and enjoyed my meal/drink. I recommend them if you’re in the Bay area.

Tried out Wawa for the second time since a friend spoke so highly of it and recommended we dine in, instead of ordering out (we did that for the first time and didn’t enjoy anything we ordered the first time).
We got the shrimp rolls which were pretty standard, the roti with curry dipping sauce was good, khao soi with crispy pork belly is probably the best Thai style I’ve had in the bay so far (red curry based broth, spicy, added additional chili oil and peppers and leveled up the flavors). The pickled mustard greens on the side were amazing!
We didn’t like the boat noodle that was advertised in the menu and tasted like instant noodles but, the workers had no problem taking it back and let us get a different dish. The Pad Thai is what we chose and it was good and we like how saucy it was.
Thai ice tea was standard and the lemongrass infused cocktail… It didn’t taste like lemongrass at all and it was really acidic.

Wawa Thai food was a favorite from when it opened, but then a few years ago they suddenly closed for many months. After they reopened, the food wasn’t the same for a while, but I am so happy to say that they’re back to the amazing, authentic, affordable Thai food they were before! They have some of the best pra ram around, and their curries are amazing. Most entrees come with rice which is nice, and the portions are always very generous. I recently tried their Khan Toke veg (also available not vegetarian) which was an absolutely amazing sampling platter that was more than enough to feed two hungry people at an amazing price. It truly felt like such an amazing treat to get and was beautiful as well as delicious and showed off the many influences within Thai cuisine.

The Pad See Ew was heavy on healthy vegetables and had the right proportion of chicken and noodles. I got take out but the place was cute! Great date spot decorated for Valentine’s Day.

Great service and great food, we got the pad Thai and the green curry. Thought pad Thai was excellent and the green curry was pretty good! The tea was also pretty good, not too sweet. So adorable and very nice staff.

wawathaifood is now one of my favorite Thai restaurants to visit in Oakland! It is such a hidden gem! The artworks are so cute and welcoming.
My friends and I love eating here! Everything we order was delicious and so flavorful. The Sweet and sour Snapper, Fried Chicken & Roti and Pad Thai were some of my favorites, though the ginger salad was so refreshing!
You must order the #ขันโตก Khan Toke specials, it is food that is serve on a pedestal tray which is used as a small dining table. What a fun experience, with so many delicious little plates of food to samples. Don’t forget their Thai teas/coffee, and delicious cocktails.
Check them out when you’re in Oakland, make sure to bring all your friends so y’all can try ALL their delicious Northern Thai dishes, especially the Khan Toke.
We can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes.
