Amazing upgrade. Little but mighty of atmosphere and food! Portions are great and amazing! Time from order to serve 10mins or a little more but its from scratch!

Chicken fried rice and I was really surprised with the Wonton Soup! Especially it being winter! Hits the spot!

The other day I got teriyaki chicken with kimchi and their wings. Wings great with spicy mayo.

Food is wonderful. Very nice friendly staff. Quick service. Affordable and worth the price. Love the tea. Definitely will be back. This was a pleasant surprise in Lakewood. Pleasant music too

We ordered takeout from Wawa Teriyaki in Lakewood, and while the food itself was tasty, the overall experience was pretty frustrating. Our order took over an hour to be ready, and during that time we watched several people come in, place their orders, and leave with their food long before ours. I wish we brought a book! We even debated asking for a refund and heading out.

The staff was polite, but they didn’t seem particularly concerned about the long wait time or keeping us updated. Once we finally got our food, it was solid — just not enough to make up for how long it took.

Honestly, if the wait was reasonable (under 30 minutes), I would say I finally found my go-to spot. But after this experience, my partner said he would never wait that long again, especially after a long workday, and I have to agree.

Food was horrible and expensive. Barely no veggies in vegetable fried rice most places give you zucchini and broccoli. Rice was clumpy and stuck together. Very disappointing will not return.

Been going to “hot teriyaki” for close to 25 years.
My sweet lady is now gone. Previous cooks and recipes taken with. I promise you if you were coming here prior to it being “WaWA” you will be severely disappointed. Rice is mushy like other reviews stated, eggroll and gyzo were barely fried. Bought the quintessential sweet and sour and Mongolian beef and tbh im not even sure what I was fed was beef? Absolute lowest quality substitution cut if I had to say. It was almost pork like? Very chewy and unedible no where near the star studded beef here before. Sweet and sour chicken? Its no longer what you’d expect. Its large random cuts of thigh in a more traditional sweet and sour, praise the salad though the dressing is close but also no cigar…dropped close to a $100 on what I knew was going to be a risky meal for my family.

Unfortunately my expectations were met and we will not be returning.

My son and I grabbed a to-go order from here today. WOW! Great portions and the chicken was nice and juicy. Teriyaki sauce was on point as well. Glad to have such a great restaurant close by. Will be returning soon.

So the food here is good but unfortunately Hot Teriyaki was awesome. So there is a very noticeable downgrade in how good the food is. I thought the fried rice was too sticky and the chicken in the sweet and sour chicken just seemed lower quality than what was used previously.

Hot Teriyaki was my go-to place and unfortunately now I’ll be going around to other Teriyaki places to see which I like to most

The restaurant is very nice, remodeled well and the new staff are incredibly nice. I would like WAWA to be great but they definitely need to improve the food. If you can hire the previous cooks or get their recipes and go back to what was made before that would be great. I’ll come back again to see if they improve but it might be a little while

I had the Mongolian beef/Chicken teriyaki for lunch and both were good! The service was decent, nothing fancy, but solid for a small hole-in-the-wall spot. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but if you’re already next door doing laundry, it’s worth grabbing a bite.

They need a second counter person, as busy as this place is. I had the chicken and shrimp combo, spouse had the beef teriyaki. Both of us took a box home and were very happy with flavor, presentation, and quantity. Note: no substitutions.

I have been coming to this location for over 15 years and now Hot teriyaki is no more! If your expecting the same great taste don’t wast your time. So disappointed in the food! Got my spicy chicken, orange chicken combo with shrimp fried rice. A total waste of 28 dollars! The customer service and atmosphere is top tier! But unfortunately the food is not edible and I will never be back after only eating teriyaki from this location for over 15 years. Bye forever Hot Teriyaki you will forever be missed!
