The service is very friendly, the foods was excellent..the decor was a little sparse.
The Fried Pork Meal and the Fried Pork Pasta Meal were our choices and they rivaled some of the best Caribbean food we’ve had.
Pork was crispy, pasta cheesy, portions were great, the flavor was spot on!
Great place to have in the area for sure!

Wawa Caribbean Restaurant is one of those places you don’t just eat at—you experience it. The food is always on point, but the red snapper truly stands out. It’s perfectly seasoned and paired with beans and rice that soak up all that rich Caribbean flavor. Every bite hits just right.

My brother’s favorite is the oxtail stew, and for good reason. It’s tender, flavorful, and comes spicy just the way I request it. And when I say spicy, I mean spicy. Add to that the fact that it’s served piping hot, and it’s almost impossible to eat fast—you have to slow down and respect the heat and the flavor.

One of the best parts of Wawa is the people. The cook is hands-on, and you actually get to meet the owners, which makes the place feel welcoming and authentic. It’s clear they take pride in what they serve.

Wawa Caribbean Restaurant is never empty—there’s always a steady flow of people coming in to eat, which tells you everything you need to know. Great food, real heat, genuine hospitality, and a loyal crowd. That’s Wawa. ️ ️

I was actually shocked to see a Caribbean restaurant in Iowa so I had to stop by and give it try. The wait was not bad at all only 30 minutes but I would not be surprised if people wait longer than that especially on a very busy day but it’s still worth it regardless. I ordered the Oxtail stew dinner with rice and I also got the jerk cabbage. This place definitely gives you a lot of rice and plenty of Oxtail meat plus it was very delicious no disappointment at all. My first time ever trying jerk cabbage and it was really good and well prepared. My overall experience at this restaurant was good and I plan on coming back again when I’m in Cedar Rapids.

Walked in just me dining but lots of take outs so I’m feeling better. It’s 1920 so it’s late. I can see it’s a family run business because the children are here. I’m getting that feeling I’m in someone’s house sitting down as the guest of honor. A quick discussion about a few items on the menu and if I can sub rice for something else. I settled on the jerk chicken platter with jerk cabbage in place of rice and beans..
Food presented in a family platter made to serve 2 or even 3. Two chicken whole legs with more than a pound of cabbage. It’s spicy and I’m told I’m eating level 1 out of 9!
This is goodness on a plate! Next trip I’m trying the ribs.
I recommend giving it a try

Where do I begin !!! I currently live in Dallas, TX. I am here visiting ! A friend of mine recommended we come here and she was NOT WRONG! The food is excellent !! See images ! I ordered the jerk chicken plate and it was so good ! All food is made fresh on spot so be patient it’s worth the wait ! For $17 you get enough food to feed 3 people and be full and satisfied and the flavor is impactful! Every bite makes you want more ! This is a family business ! The kids they clean and do their job without being told ! The kids sweep and mop and clean without being told like wow ! You would never see this type of restaurant style or food like this in Dallas , TX! The music on the screen was a vibe ! Wawa is so sweet ! I am praying that her business grows and she can afford a bigger space and expansion ! This was a great food experience for Haitian food I have ever had ! Yall need to come on and taste this goodness!! Thank you so much WaWa for your kind service and Testimomy !

The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was rounded off just right. From the seasoning to portion. The guy taking our orders was exceptional when it came to answering questions about our meals. And the Homemade Lemonade is a must have.
