HEY Huber Heights… we officially got a Wawa! ☕️
The first Wawa in Montgomery County just opened and I had to stop by.
I may have missed the mascot but the employees were so sweet and even took pics with me.
Of course, I grabbed the holiday blend coffee with Irish cream
Seasonal. Cozy. So good.
They’re doing free coffee today (I think through the weekend—don’t quote me, I’ll confirm ), plus tons of grand opening deals.
✨ Bonus feel-good moment: Wawa is donating a portion of their first-week hoagie sales to the local food bank (up to $5,000) — so yes… go grab a hoagie and do some good while you’re at it.
Big win for Huber Heights

My family and I enjoyed a quick trip to Wawa to enjoy some lunch. I ordered a strawberry, mango, and banana smoothie with whip cream on top, a bagel with egg whites and avocado. My husband ordered roasted chicken sandwich. Our son ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. The food was so fresh and delicious. It was not fast food, it was great food at its finest right at the gas station. The place is clean and staff are ready to provide timely service. We will return.

It was quite a happening place. Shakes were great to taste . Food quality needs some more improvement. Typical Gas station store. Staff members were nice.

Context: I grew up on WaWa in S.E. Virginia (Yorktown, VA) – so I have a long history of experiences (good and bad) but have always had a positive relationship with this Brand…

But that just about all ended today. As others have said, no cashier until the Asst. GM got up there, otherwise all self check out; Which, being fair, is not abnormal this day and age – but NO one up front? That’s a poor decision.

WaWa is known for their Deli/Drink portion of the store: This one was in absolute CHAOS. 3 individuals (I assume under the age of 20) couldn’t stop running their mouths at customers (disrespectfully), or ignoring them, or just kept chatting and joking with each other and completely ignoring the ever growing group of (hungry and increasingly agitated) customers waiting for their food/drinks.

The Asst. GM looked like he could not be bothered less about it, and the FOH manager was no where to be found. Good help is hard to find, but good leadership apparently is absent all together.

Last gripe: again, I’m used to East Coast WaWas – so different markets with much larger populations to cater to – this store is significantly smaller with less to offer in terms of snacks/drinks. If I had to guess, it’s about 1/2 the size of a typical WaWa. If that was a market decision, I can appreciate it.

Recommend folks going there with a lot of patience, and even more time. You’ll need both.

Followup: Just got home and opened up my food. I requested Roast Beef – definitely got a philly cheese steak CRUSHED.

I will not go back to this place for many months.

Went to the grand opening celebration, if you see this in the future, you missed out! There was alot of people here. I got free coffee any size that they offered, they also gave out free t-shirts for the first 250 customers. Good location, it sits higher than other gas station on a hill top. View is awesome.

Totally disappointed. Extra small Wawa. Opened a few months ago. Dirty inside. How could they let this happen to a newly opened store? Went in to get food but decided against it. Unclean. Very small area to get food. No tables to sit. Nothing like the commercials you see about Wawa.

I know WAWA from Florida. I’m thrilled to have one in the area. I love this place! Bright, spacious, organized and clean. I ordered a junior sub with a medium chicken noodle soup. They have the very best chicken noodle soup! It’s always hot and delicious . The cheesesteak was tasty with my favorite toppings. Give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been going to Wawa and a Wawa rewards member for over 10 years in Tampa and Orlando. So I was excited when they opened in Huber but a little skeptical because any business that is based out of another state and opens in Huber is not the best. The food and atmosphere was good. The service was not that great. They have a self checkout which is card only. I usually pay cash anyways. However the issue is had is there is not a sign about change shortage and to use exact change when paying cash or they will round up or down. It is the principle of the matter. So when I realized I didn’t get my change I asked very nicely about it and could I just pay the exact change she looked at me if I was stupid. Then I asked her if the grand opening for the $4 shortie ended today. She replied she didn’t know and didn’t even try to find out. I spoke to may have been a manager and she said she would try to do more training but didn’t address the issue about the sign or even verbally letting customers know to pay exact change. Just think of all the people that don’t receive their change and that’s more money in Wawa’s pockets. With the economy the way it is every penny may count to people and they possibly just wanted to treat themselves to a treat. If I go back I will make sure to pay exact change.
