I filled up my tank ($74) and went inside and placed my order, which included a bowl and a smoothie. Then I went to the bathroom, then went to the register to pay. I had cash so I had to go to the only register that had a person on it. Because for some reason the self-serve ones don’t accept cash. Then I went to get my food, and now I’m sitting in the parking lot eating and writing this review. I’ve been here more than 45 minutes now.
1) the bathroom was a wreck. Contrary to my username I am a 51 year old woman. So it was the women’s room. There was gobs of wet toilet paper on the back of one toilet with a toilet seat cover half in and half out of the toilet and it was not flushed. The other one had something brown smeared all over the outside rim on the front. No thank you. And of course there are no paper towels so I had to use a large wad of toilet paper to clean UP the soggy toilet paper and flush the toilet so that I could use it.
2) when I got to the counter to pay I was third in line. The man at the front stepped back because all he needed was a lottery paper where you fill it in so the guy in front of me paid for his stuff.
Another person walked up behind me while that was happening. Then the cashier reached down and picked up an entire pack of those little fill in the blank lottery things and opened it, but inexplicably, instead of just handing the guy one, she walked away from the counter. At this point now there were two people behind me as well as the man waiting for the lottery thing. Let me reiterate this… SHE WALKED AWAY while there were actively four people standing in front of her. Then we all watched her wander around the store for like five different locations putting out these little lottery things. Then she casually just wandered back up front to what was now seven people including me and the other guy in line waiting for her.
3) After getting gas and then the fiasco in the bathroom and then waiting for her to stroll around the store (because that’s what she was doing, she was definitely not walking like she had a purpose), I FINALLY got to go to the food area to pick up my order. The drink side had my order ready and as soon as it showed up that it was paid she set it out, and I picked it up.
Then I stood there and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited as I watched at least three other customers (that were behind me in line before) pick up their orders as well as Uber eats or doordash picking up their orders which were also put out while I was waiting. It took the smoothie lady telling them that I was there for them to bother acknowledging that I was there. Then she got an attitude like “oh what was your order number?” And when I told her she deliberately walked to the computer screen to look and go “yeah it was paid” and then plop it down in front of me. Literally. Plopped. So I told her if you know people wanted to get their food faster they might consider telling the cashier to stop walking away from the register. She was just like “oh okay I’ll tell her”. Riggghhhhhttt.
And yeah, my food is cold.
If it weren’t for the smoothie and the really lovely lady that worked the drink station I would absolutely give as few stars as possible.
Amari went out of his way to help me tonight.
First it was the XL Drinks. They didn’t have any stocked. He asked me what was wrong and I mentioned I just threw my XL cup away. He went and looked for more cups in the back and came back with another stack of cups. Then as I was checking out the longhorn straight I usually ask for was empty. Just been a bad night. He checked around again for me and came up with a 5 pack for me. He just as well could have said they were out but he checked. It’s the good friendly staff you want to keep around. Props to this young man.
We as his family go by on a frequent basis to keep it up. Almost every day, someone adds something or puts flowers down.
Today, Wawa corporate thought it would be a great idea to tear this down. It feels almost as if our son was killed again. The only reason I gave them one star, the local employees tried to fight the corporate office about taking it down.
The corporate people didn’t even have the courtesy to try and contact us, provide notice, nothing. What kind of despicable human being does something like this.
Pathetic!!
