I just wanted to give a shoutout. I didn’t catch the cashier’s name unfortunately because I was in a hurry, but she gave me a great customer service experience this morning around 9am.
I had a coffee, 2 red bulls, and 2 breakfast sandwiches. I initially went to the self-checkout, but there was a line. The cashier announced she was open to help anyone at self-checkout, which was also nice to see.
She said good morning, and scanned my items, she paused and told me, “OK, right. Now you’re at $16.47, but I’m going to scan you in a hash brown, because you have one of our deals, and that brings it to $14.99!”
I grabbed a hash brown, thanked her, and went on my way. As I was leaving I heard her telling tje next customer about another similar deal.
She did not have to announce she was open, she did not have to tell me I was missing out on a deal to save money, she also didn’t have to do that for multiple people with a smile early on a cold morning.
Great customer service experience. I called wawa corporate and let them know as well. I hope the store manager sees this and gives her a raise!

Update : Corporate customer service didn’t help me but wanted to give a shout out to the manager Blake who listened to me and resolved the issue within 5 minutes. I changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars because of him.
Be careful ordering through the app. They don’t keep up with what they have behind the counter as far as food and can’t give a refund in the store when they run out of what you order. You’ll waste time going to the store and having to go through the app for a refund and then have to wait on customer service to hopefully get you your money back quickly.

They have a mobile order pickup area with signs informing you that completed orders will be there, but the employees instead hide them up with the cashier at the register. When I asked the deli worker where my order was (because I thought someone must’ve taken it by accident), he responded that it was at the register as if that’s something I should have known???

So I ordered a gobbler bowl with mashed potatoes and while ringing out they tell me they’ve run out of mashed potatoes. I say stuffing is fine instead. I get home and all they’ve put into the bowl was the turkey, gravy and cranberry sauce.

I went to the Newark Wawa on Chestnut Hill road yesterday to get a pizza for the first time because my coworker was telling me how good it is so I ordered a pepperoni pizza not only did it take a long time to get the pizza but when I got home it was burnt on top and bottom they obviously didn’t care about how they gave me the pizza because I know he saw that it was burnt when he took it out the the oven and decided to give it to me that way anyhow so my first time obviously trying the pizza was not good and I don’t ever want to try it again and the fact that I go to that Wawa quite often because it’s on the way to my job made it even more disappointing he could have let me know that it was burnt I would have waited for another one they need to retrain him on food quality or he just didn’t care.

Made an order with them through DoorDash just to have it immediately cancelled. Paid $57 and now I have to wait 3 days to get it back. Do not have your DoorDash active if it is not working working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of us don’t have the money to spend else where after already ordering from one place.
So I’ve ordered from here a few times since this last incident. It’s been…okay.
But tonight they’re back at the f*ckery.
They messed up our subs but my mother’s Italian was the worst and it’s sad because this was her baptism lunch because it’s her favorite. I’m adding the picture of it. I’m not even going to explain. Look at the picture. Only thing I will say that you can’t see is there was Mayo on it instead of oil. Her sub looked like a joke.

This is usually my go to wawa since the other one down the street is horrible but READ the tickets! No one wants a shredded chicken, egg and cheese when they ordered SAUSAGE egg and cheese. I should have known when she was calling everyone’s order a bagel when they weren’t to check!

On the 21st I went in and made a purchase. $13.78. Upon scanning my card the cashier told me it did not go through. I told her I saw it say approved. No good. Ran it again. Immediately opened my bank app and showed the cashier that I had been charged twice. The answer that I was given from another employee before even leaving the store that they have to wait until it clears my bank because she didn’t know if it had already been reversed. This is a lie. She was just to lazy or poorly trained to do her job. But for the moment I had to apparently deal with the fact that Wawa has just stolen $13.78 from me. I went back on the 24th, last night to again try to get it reversed. The answer I got this time is “Well that’s a problem for your bank”. Definitely not acceptable. Definitely not customer service oriented. Definitely rooted in the inability of the general manager to train their staff . So I left my name and number for the general manager to call me back. It is now 4:00 p.m. on the following day. I’ve still heard nothing. This store is full of thieves who are poorly trained and indifferent to the disservice that they are giving their customers. Even the general manager is just as reprehensible and indifferent to the mistreatment of their customers. I think Wawa Corp needs to root out the trash and restaff this location with decent management. It’s not about the amount. It’s about the principal. You stole from me. I called you on it. You still shrugged it off and passed it on to somebody else to rectify.
