We are so glad we stumbled upon this quaint family restaurant. You may accidentally go right by it (especially at night) but make sure you turn around! It is so worth it. Parking in the back. Don’t let the outside fool you, the inside is filled with so many wonders and treasures. A lot of history to this place-from a home, to a hotel and saloon to various restaurants before the owner Katerina and her husband bought the place many moons ago. She was quite lovely to chat with.
We had the ribeye steak and country steak and both were delicious. The ribeye was especially good! No seasoning or steak sauce required 🙂
$40 for both meals with two drinks.
We’ve paid more than that for one steak at some fancy steakhouse that had half the flavor and half the size that we got.

The food is amazing and price is very affordable. I’d put their Ribeyes against any steak house in Tampa. We actually will drive an hour for a date night there. Nice. Quiet. Great food. The owners are beautiful people. They’ve been in Hardee County for more than 30 years. Cubans, spaghetti, Gyros… You name it, it’s on the menu.

This is a great place to go for a nice, affordable meal. The interior has a great nostalgic decor. All entrees come with one side and a side salad. I ordered the country-fried steak with peppers and onions. My wife ordered the fried chicken dinner. Both tasted great. With our meals and two beverages, the bill was under $30 and we had a great lunch.

Came across this place while driving through. Staff was friendly and the locals were nice. Felt welcomed. Good was great. Had the fried green tomatoes best I’ve ever had. Cuban press sandwich was really good too. Looks like place isn’t opened because it’s an old house. You park around back. It’s definitely a hidden place but very good. Would definitely recommend and would stop here again. Prices Decent too. Thank you all.

The sign and exterior are old and faded.
The inside is old and rustic. There are vintage photos of Wauchula on the walls.
Wait staff is professional. Credit cards are accepted. Food like mom used to make is well prepared and good portions

Sadly we regretted this stop. With the reviews we figured we could handle a run down establishment so we stopped. The restaurant is old but could stand a good cleaning. We had sanitizer wipes and cleaned our table. The food is basically from a box. The mashed potatoes were not real. The meats, hamburger steak and grouper, were edible. The veggies were terrible. The staff was excellent and friendly and we were disappointed that the food and cleanliness lacked much to be desired.

Home cooked meals. This is a nice house turned into a restaurant period where Grandma Cooks the meals period and the grandkids wait on tables. This is not a corporate fancy restaurant. It’s home-cooked food at a fair price. I’m from out of town so whenever I’m in town visiting family. And like the other people in town this is the place to go to get a good home cooked meal.
