Came here for a spring getaway. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Holiday inn, and we would relax with a couple of drinks at the end of the nights here. It has a wonderful view! Our drinks were so tasty and there was incredible service, our server was Joy both nights and she was extremely personable! I would definitely recommend coming by to decompress after a long day exploring the city and asking for her!

I visited Water View Restaurant in Chicago for dinner, and while the view is absolutely amazing and definitely the highlight of the experience, the food and service were disappointing.
Unfortunately, our waitress was not very polite, which set a negative tone early on. We ordered chicken wings, a cocktail, a margarita pizza, and a steak large plate.
The margarita pizza was extremely underwhelming, honestly worse than a frozen grocery-store pizza. It didn’t even have basil, which is kind of the bare minimum for a margarita pizza. The steak was cold and completely tasteless, lacking seasoning or flavor. The chicken wings were crunchy, but the chicken itself tasted stale, which was unpleasant. The fries that came with the steak were actually good, probably the best part of the meal. The drink was just okay, nothing special.
Overall, this place has huge potential because of the view, but the food quality and service don’t match the setting. I wouldn’t return for the food, though the scenery might appeal to someone just looking for a nice backdrop.

Not your typical hotel lobby bar and restaurant. Great views from the 15th floor. Friendly staff. Limited menu but the dip we had was good.

Over the past 8 years I have consistently brought groups of 15-20 to stay at the hotel associated with Waterview Restaurant. We always met for a happy hour (or two) before dinner, and often came back to enjoy ourselves an little longer after, and enjoyed the view and the excellent service provided. Over that time I got to know Ignation and Javier very well, and they got to know us. Their service was always exceptional, particularly considering the size of our group. Always stayed positive even when slammed with people and orders. Even though we only came a few times a year, Ignatio remembered the “regulars” of our work group and treated us accordingly.
My company has recently left the Merchandise Mart, and I am very sad that I will need to find an alternate place for these work gatherings. I know we will be let down by other’s service after Ignatio, Javier, and others created such an exceptionally high bar.
Cheers to you all, if possible I will try to find a way that our work groups still find our way through to enjoy your fantastic hospitality!

Ordered by myself on a Wednesday night, my server never came back. Luckily someone named Robert attended to me when I made several unsuccessful attempts to flag them down. Food was under seasoned but overall decent.

Joy was an amazing waitress; I’ve eaten here every night of my stay and she greeted me every time with a smile and knew my drink order immediately. Food is great and service is always accomodating.

Had the breakfast buffet every morning. Juan was our server. He was awesome. Kind, funny and extra engaging with our kids. We had a great stay here and thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the watermark.
