We got a great parking spot right in the alleyway next to the restaurant. The nightlife on the street was awesome. Lots of people out having a good time…going to different restaurants. Walked in to the Watershed and was welcomed by a warm smile from the hostess and a conversation with the manager because I was concerned that I parked next to a broken parking meter and didn’t want to get a ticket. As I said, I’m from Philly.
The atmosphere was lively with people sitting at the bar and tables chitchatting. Volume of the music was just right, which added to the ambience. It wasn’t overcrowded, there was more than enough space to move around. We were seated right away on the first floor never got a chance to go upstairs.
Waiter came, gave us our menus which included a special Valentine’s Day menu. You have to use a QR code to get the drink menu. I wanted to order everything, but we narrowed it down to roasted garlic mussels for each, some tasty drinks: Honeypot and the Nor’easter, and the couples surf and turf from the special menu, which included a big piece of steak and two lump meat, crabcakes, fries, coleslaw, and two sauces.
The food was so good. The mussels came with this wonderful crunchy sliced French bread with look like blue cheese butter maybe some parsley on top. Perfect for dipping in the mussel’s juice. Very flavorful.
The only thing that I didn’t like was that they brought our meal out while we were still eating the mussels but I wasn’t trippin’. The whole experience was a vibe.
The restrooms were very clean and spacious.
Pineapple crushes: 4/10 pass for us. Just aren’t fans of any crushes really
Drunk sailor noodles: 10/10 must try. How the egg was made surprised me. Very good
Oysters x 12: 8/10 very fresh
Watershed wings: 8/10 regular wings but good
Fried chicken sliders: 6/10 plain and a little dry
Mussels curry: 100/10 no typo. Truly the star of the meal. The sauce is incredible!
Peeled shrimp: 6/10 good but not worth $10
Everything cost $75. Strongly recommend coming here for happy hour.
And by the way, the Maryland crab soup wasn’t good at all either. I didn’t even bother including the photo — you can try it yourself and let me know what you think.
Not gonna lie, maybe it’s on me for ordering oysters from a bar, but still… this was really disappointing, especially after all the positive reviews.
The drinks were on point well made, flavorful, and worth every sip. And the food? SO good. Everything I tried was fresh, tasty, and exactly what I was hoping for. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both the menu and the mood, but Watershed really delivered.
If you’re looking for a place with great rooftop scenery, delicious drinks, and food you’ll actually remember, Watershed is it. I’ll definitely be back!
