Watering Hole Of America – W.H.O.A. Tavern is a great local town tavern in Keno, Oregon. We took an afternoon drive from Ashland to Klamath Falls, Oregon. We made many stops along the way. As we entered the town of Keno, we drove past the Whoa Tavern.
We rarely stop at a bar or tavern without checking them out first, but as we drove past the Whoa Tavern, it just sort of called out to us. So, a quick U-Turn and minutes later, we were walking through the front door. We were quickly greeted by the owner and several folks sitting at the bar.
We took a little tour of the bar, dining room, back patio, and large back yard suitable for larger events.
The Whoa tavern is a historic building, back in the day starting as an automobile service station where they worked on cars in the basement (one picture shows steps going to the basement from the outside).
The local town folks at the tavern were welcoming and friendly; after spending an hour chatting, we thought we had known them for years.
The service was professional, friendly, and top-notch. The food and drinks were amazing. They have specials, a great menu, and excellent service! The serving size is generous, and the prices are very reasonable.
Note: I included a few pictures of the floor; you might wonder why? Turns out this is cattle country, and locals have brought their branding irons, and for your review and interest, you can see several iconic brands burned onto the wooden floor.
Do yourself a favor and give the iconic Watering Hole Of America – W.H.O.A. Tavern in Keno , try; you will not be disappointed!

Well I gotta say that I am glad my wife and I stopped here after a long day of hunting. We got lunch from the truck and I gotta say that the Bacon burger was delicious and probably ranks in my top ten in Oregon. Burger was seasoned to perfection, cooked well done “no pink” the way I like it. The vegetables were grade A and I would honestly swear they were fresh grown in the basin. My wife got a Philly cheese sandwich, and I gotta say that I really was blown away by the extremely generous amount of steak and mushrooms on the sandwich. Price was extremely fair and I know this is now the stop after the hunt place. So if you are cruising anywhere around keno or klamath make the trip to this place. I also know that the bar is a local legend and has awesome service and quality drinks.

This little bar has a great atmosphere and excellent food and service. I had Pudding Shots for the first time, and they were so delicious. The bartender was so nice, and she had me laughing. One of the customers won some money and bought everyone in the place. We also ate some of the best Phillie Steak sandwiches served with tater tots, and I’d go back to have more any day of the week.

If you want to have some great food and drinks in a comfortable place with friendly folks this is your bar. They have entertainment every Saturday night. Indoor or outdoor seating just a great place to relax.
