We had no reservation and were able to find seating at the bar. We started with an old fashioned and an autumn sour. Both were great. We tried the fried calamari Rhode Island style. It was lightly battered and the peppers had just right amount of spice to them. We also tried the French onion soup and clam chowder. The clam chowder was so flavorful and the French onion soup had just the right amount of cheese and croutons. Our entrees were the bluegill fish fry and the steak sandwich. The fish was delicious and the batter was seasoned very well. The steak sandwich was amazing and I enjoyed the peppers and chimichurri aioli. We finished our meal with a slice of cheesecake which was light and creamy. A perfect way to end the meal. We will be back for sure!!

We had such a great experience here! The prime rib was absolutely excellent- perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The appetizers were just as good and a great way to start the meal. Our server Sasha was fantastic as well- super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell they really care about the quality of both the food and service. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Arrived just after four pm, no reservation. Seated immediately indoors. Lovely place and I already knew the food would be great since my son and his wife have dined two weekends in a row here. Our server, Brittney (sorry if the spelling is incorrect), was absolutely fantastic. We ordered an app and it was out pronto followed by salads that were obviously made by someone who takes pride not only in flavor but the appearance and presentation. Entrees, like the salads, were timed perfectly (credit to Brittney) and were delicious. I had the prime rib special and my lady had the chicken parmigiana. We were both impressed and sampled each other’s entrees. We both took food home for a second meal. We will definitely be back and soon!

Our waitress Sasha was excellent. Her recommendations were spot on! We tried the Wisconsin bourbon old fashioned, which was delicious and not too sweet. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer, which were served with a yummy ranch dressing we are sure was homemade. It was Friday night and per Sasha’s high praise we ordered the blue gill, which was one of the Friday night fish fry choices (walleye and perch were the others, which Sasha also said were very good). Our entry came with a house salad and 1 side. My date opted to upgrade to the loaded baked potato with thick bacon, chedder cheese and sour cream You are given huge portions, we each took 1/2 of our entries home. Sasha told us about the carrot cake for dessert. We took a piece to go, as we were full and were headed to The Opera House to see Steely Dane. We ate our cake the next night and Sasha was right it was exceptional! We plan to go back on a Wednesday night soon! They have date night specials that intrigued us. We highly recommend this quaint place with friendly staff and excellent beverages and food! Make a reservation if you go!!!

We came from out of town for dinner before a show at the Opera House. Our first time here. The staff was outstanding, especially the hostess. I was so grateful to her for accommodating my disabled friend, who is very ill due to Agent Orange exposure. The food was very good, we both had the prime rib. The only tiny complaint I have is that our prime rib was brought out immediately after our salads, I would have preferred to finish my salad first. All in all it was a very good experience. I would definitely recommend!

Just found a new favorite brunch spot at Water Street Tavern Stoughton! Smoked salmon eggs Benedict, stuffed French toast with door county cherries, and sausage gravy & biscuits. Beautiful view of the river, lovely retro modern decor, and a fun artomat vending machine! Be sure to make a reservation for a table!

Is there a rating above five stars? Like, lick the plate good? First visit and everything we had was fantastic. Service was great and fast. Cocktails came out quick. Food came out quick. Our server explained everything very well. I would highly recommend visiting and trying everything on the menu!!

This was our first time here and it was wonderful! The food was amazing. Specifically the stuffed mushrooms, brusselsprouts, clam chowder and prime rib were so good! We were in a group of 12 and everyone loved their food! While the food was amazing, our server, Sasha, made this experience even better. She was so great! Definitely planning on going back!

I can’t speak highly enough about Water Street Tavern in Stoughton. We drove out here for dinner to avoid the crowds in Madison The food, decor and most of all the service was fantastic. If you can, ask for Sasha as a server. She will absolutely make your night. She’s a GEM. Sorry for the bad pictures, dim lighting and I was starving. We got the clam chowder, French onion soup, calamari, and steak sandwiches. EVERYTHING was incredible. 10/10. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
