I love the small open kitchen concept, it felt like we were eating at a dinner party. We started with a French 75 and a sangria which were both nicely balanced drinks on the less sweet end of the spectrum which we are fans of. The chicken dumplings were a nice twist on a classic with veggie-forward accompaniments. The salmon was the surprise star of the meal with an absolutely perfect cook (even more impressive because they were starting to get really busy when we arrived). The lamb chops also had a fantastic cook and I appreciated the fingerling potatoes as a side to go with it rather than French fries or mashed potatoes. Don’t forget the sweet potato bread pudding for dessert it is phenomenal. Highly recommended.

Last night was truly unforgettable. We had the pleasure of dining at Water for Chocolate restaurant, and the entire evening felt like a beautiful culinary experience. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and elegant, setting the tone for what would become an extraordinary experience.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. It genuinely felt as though the chef was cooking exclusively for our party — and in a way, he was. We had the rare opportunity to watch him prepare our dishes right in front of us, engaging with him as he worked his magic in the kitchen. That personal touch added a whole new layer of intimacy and appreciation to the meal.
Our server was equally impressive: gracious, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. He guided us through the menu, which we learned changes nightly or weekly i think keeping the experience fresh and exciting for returning guests.
It wasn’t just dinner — it was a celebration of flavor, hospitality, and artistry. I can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! I didn’t think I’d love the barbecue shrimp and grits, but it was amazing. My Poinsetta was light and tasty without being too sweet or strong. The vibe was so relaxing, from the decor, artwork, and music. The only potential drawback is the parking, but I was blessed to find a spot next to the outdoor seating, which I can imagine is great when it’s warm. I will definitely be revisiting with friends.

Best food I’ve had in Baltimore in ages. The food is MINDBLOWINGLY delicious, service is great, atmosphere is cozy and cute. They even have hooks for your purse 🙂 and I liked being able to see over the counter into the kitchen. We had the duck poutin, WFC salad (THE CORNBREAD OMG), lamb chops, and blue plate seafood curry. Every single thing was phenomenal.

This was my fifth stop for Baltimore restaurant week and it was the best one so far. The food was so delicious that I didn’t want it to end. That lobster curry was absolutely magical. My friend had the lamb risotto and he literally lifted the bowl up to his mouth. I had an entire carafe of the dope juice sangria, which had a complex taste of fruit, wine, herbs and spices. The ambiance is intimate, almost like being invited to Chef’s house. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable but maybe could have been a bit more efficient. It didn’t take away from my experience. Regardless, this is one of Baltimore’s best spots! Can’t wait to come back.

I was visiting from DC and stopped in before heading to the Baltimore Museum of Art . Street parking was easy to find, which was a great start. The service was attentive, kind, and fast .
The food was absolutely spectacular . We had the barbecue shrimp and grits—the cornbread and sauce were next level. The Jamaican iced teas were delicious , and the duck confit with waffles was incredible. Everything was flavorful, served hot, and tasted fresh—nothing felt frozen or pre-made ✨.
Sorry I didn’t snap photos, but I highly recommend this spot! I will definitely be back ⭐️

We tried this place for the first time during Baltimore Restaurant week. We oderednoff the pre fix menu and ala carte. They did not disappoint. All meals were freshly cooked and the server Thomas was super polite and welcoming. We were able to get a table with no reservations in a cozy nook. My duck risotto (not pictured bc ai tore it up) was creamy perfection. All items were delicious and the sweet potato bread pudding was an excellent highlight.

Baaabbyyyyyyyy!!!! You might as well stop reading this and head right on over to their website and make that brunch reservation. The whole experience was perfection, from Thomas (our greeter/server) to the mint water, to the DELICIOUS food prepared by Chef Sean Guy. This was def a top notch experience and we’ll definitely be back to try other menu items. NOTE: There are plenty of vegan options to choose from!

Water for Chocolate is far more than fine dining!
On a visit to Baltimore with the Ben Barber Culinary/Restaurant Team, we were looking for a place that could accommodate a reservation for 30. One of my cousins came out the box with Water for Chocolate!
This intimate dining establishment showcases the talent, love, and passion of Chef/Owner Sean Guy and staff.
Our reservation was for 30 people at 5pm on a Saturday. However, when we arrived we were a group of 50! Chef Guy and crew didn’t even blink! With himself at the helm of the kitchen, and staff of 3, he had us all fed with dishes such as Gluten-Free Charred Red Snapper with Cilantro-Lime Rice and Broccolini, Vegetarian Black-Eyed Red Curry, Duck Risotto, and Ribeye Steaks; all within an hour and a half! Baby, let me tell you! Chef did not miss! You could see the discipline and taste the care that was put into every dish! There wasn’t a single dish that was not worthy of extensive praise!
If you’re every in the Baltimore area, or a local. Make it a point to open your heart to all that is Water for Chocolate.
Check it Out!!!
