We stumbled across this gem while traveling down the coast from our visit to Acadia National Park. My husband has a weakness for hotdogs so even though we’d had a hearty breakfast, we made the room to stop for a good ol’ fashioned wiener.

Because we are Millennial/Gen Z cusp babies, we rarely carry cash, so we were scared we might lose our opportunity for this American classic when we saw it was cash-only. Thankfully, there were two ATMs in the parking lot and we were able to withdraw a crisp $20 to try a few of the items here.

As we approached the stand, we were delighted to see the setup of the interior. One worker manning a grill and handling the drive-thru orders, and one worker manning a grill for the walk-up orders. Each grill was plentiful with hot dogs approaching the perfect char and the smell carried outside of the stand awakened the taste buds. The lovely young woman running the walk-up side was friendly and prompt, giving us our order at practically the same time she passed us our change.

We ordered a plain cheeseburger, one wiener with ketchup, one Chili Cheese dog, and one Western Dog to sample a few different options! The Chili Cheese Dog was that classic flavor with the perfect balance of flavors and enough of each ingredient to have a perfect bite every time without getting messy. The Western Dog was a unique mix of flavors outside of the standard, but still simple enough to appeal to my picky husband, who typically prefers his wiener with ketchup only.

We were very pleased with our visit and glad that our time driving through coincided with their limited hours. Quick, great service, great food, and great prices! It’s just too bad that we don’t have one of these back home.

Sometimes, you just need a hot dog to do the trick!

This little place is a hidden little gem in Belfast. I initially seen one in Rockland but didn’t have time to stop so when I discovered the one in Belfast I decided to check it out. It’s a great place to get a hot dog and their menu is also good. The staff was upbeat and friendly. I highly recommend if you like hot dogs!!

Always visit when on vacation. A must stop daily for lunch! Can never get enough. By far the best hot dogs in the world. Everything tastes perfect. Cooked in peanut oil with onions. Steamed buns. Some French fries. I’m thinking about driving 4 hours for lunch! Can’t wait to go back!

And the people working, kudos to them! Super hard working and never screw up my orders.

Driving back down to Portland after visiting Acadia National Park, I got hungry on the road and looked for a quick bite to eat. When I opened up my maps, I saw this hotdog stand and was intrigued by all of the positive reviews.

Located in a parking lot, it was nothing spectacular from its appearance, but the service was extremely fast and friendly, and the hotdog was surprisingly delicious.

I ordered an everything dog which came with grilled onions, mustard, and relish on what I am assuming is a unique Maine-style bun (aka not a typical hot dog bun I am used to).

The price was fair and the hotdog was ample. After my first bite, I knew why people enjoyed these hot dogs so much. Nothing fancy, but just a good classic hotdog.

A great convergence of quality and price, along with nice service. Cash only establishment but tax is built into the price which more businesses should do. Recommend a visit if you’re in the area and don’t have a peanut allergy.

Must be a tough Mainer with a cast iron stomach meant to eat a mack truck. Awful, low quality gut bubbling slop. The bacon chili dogs were a pile of mush followed by painful bathroom trips later. Tried a second time and got a bacon “burger”. The salisbury steakish patty they called a burger was just awful. The onion and mustard flavor was DELICIOUS but masked by the horrid slab of mystery meat in the middle. This place used to be iconic, now they just want more money for less quality.

Stopped on a whim for a road trip snack. Never mind a cash only place when it keeps prices low! There’s an ATM in the same parking lot if you need. Amazing food and service. Sauerkraut and cheese sauce were both 10/10

The BEST hot dogs and two people can have lunch for $15!! My wife gets mustard and raw onions…pretty basic. I get them with everything, which is sauces onions, mustard, and relish. You can choose spicy relish or plain. I like the spicy. Not too hot, but has a kick. Our favorite quick lunch! We go to all three locations…Belfast, Thomaston , and Rockland. Belfast has a large lot to park and eat or picnic tables to sit at.

Food truck type business, lines of people and cars (drive-thru). $4.50 for a chili dog cooked in tons of grease. What else could you want?
