This restaurant is quite a gem situated at the heart of Basking Ridge. We were having a short meeting during tea time, so we didn’t get to taste a lot. Simple salad, appetizers, Thai coconut chicken soup and non alcoholic drinks were all great. Staff were professional. We had a great time there. The entrance is on the side street where they have a tent set up as outdoor dining

Took the family here for my graduation celebration. Was recommended through a family friend and I was very satisfied with their service, cocktails, and food.

Food was very good, service was top notch. Enjoyed every component of the meal and absolutely no complaints. Tent bathroom trailers were a bit odd however, would have preferred normal plumbing. Would return, but ask for indoor seating

Outstanding well run restaurant with good food! We had the Washington burger and the chopped salad with seared Tuna! Both really well done! Also had the French onion soup, delicious! The service was outstanding and the restaurant was busy. Sat in the inside dining room, just beautiful! Also outdoor seating on the patio and inside the heated tent. All the servers wore black with the Washington House emblem, very professional looking and all well trained. We will be back! Cool old photos, showing how the restaurant used to be!

I’ve been here for lunch and dinner a few times. The food is consistently good. This time I had the crab cake which was excellent. Their cocktails are very original. The “skinny pirate “ was delicious.

Pleasantly surprised, since we haven’t been here in awhile. Tent seating was nice since the weather was perfect. Oysters were excellent and Pork Chop entree was a great cut and well prepared, sides were average.

My wife and I were excited to visit as we are local to the area. Went for drinks and sat at the bar. There were 4 others at the bar and maybe 4 others in the bar room. The restaurant and bar are are very nicely decorated. The service and drinks, however, were extremely disappointing. Although there were 3 bartenders, they all hung out to the side of the bar and were impossible to flag down. After waiting 10 minutes, we twice had to grab random waitresses to help in getting drinks. The bartender messed up the simple order of a dark n stormy forgetting to include 1 of 3 ingredients – the ginger beer. They responded by asking to order a different drink rather than correcting the original. The bartender also failed miserably (after waiting an additional 10 minutes to order another drink) to properly pour a Guinness. We provided our disappointment to the main bartender when we received the check, for which he simply said sorry, inferring that he was not surprised at our reaction. Will definitely not be returning again.

$1 oysters on Wednesday is my personal favorite. They are not smelly. Don’t have sand and very tasty.

So much to enjoy here but twice now, the burger has been disappointing. The bun was stale on both occasions and I ordered bacon well done which also came undercooked both times. But the rest of the cuisine was excellent. I almost feel like they serve better finer food – oysters, tuna, scallops, steak. The sauces and accompaniments are delightful. The cocktails are outstanding as well. Highly recommend, just wish there was a little more care taken to serving fresh bread for the burgers, makes all the difference.

Great outdoor option with the tent they have set up. Decent amount of ventilation and thankfully wasn’t too crowded when we went. We tried to get an extra table to put on the side of ours so the lot of us didn’t have to squish together but they weren’t allowed to do so. They did managed to give us one extra chair so that was somewhat helpful. Staff was very nice and the food was delicious. Recommend the red snapper fish tacos. Absolutely delicious. The shrimp and scallop Fresca was good but even better when we added hot sauce. Dessert was pretty much perfect. The brownies were warm and gooey on the inside which paired well with the vanilla ice cream.
