You will take a trip back to a charming simpler time when you enter Washington Food Market for takeout. From the owners to everyone waiting in line for their orders, you will experience the best hospitality. This NC girl will happily say it’s the BEST BBQ you will ever eat!! Their coleslaw and pecan cobbler are musts as well! We ordered oysters, shrimp, crawfish, and sausage for the 4th. All were fresh and fantastic! An absolute gem of a restaurant. Our first stop when we are in town!

Yep I’m back lol. Look if your visiting Washington for your first time or you’re just coming back home and you just want that taste of Wilkes county this is the place to go. I would say the worst thing about this place is the fact that every time I come back to Washington I have to bring a cooler because I got to take some of that Brunswick home. Thank you so much for the great food and the great memories, my family always looking forward to next visit to Washington and enjoying this always pleasurable BBQ experience.

Stopped by for the 1st time this past Friday. I only live one county over and I’m now mad at myself for waiting so long. I got a brisket plate with mashed potatoes and fried okra. After I ate lunch I had enough brisket left over for a sandwich the next day. Great food, service, and hospitality .

Hands down the best BBQ around — and worth every mile of the 2.5-hour drive we made to get it! This little spot sits in the small town I grew up in, so there’s already a special place in my heart for it, but what really blew us away was the service.

They went above and beyond to make sure we could get our hands on their mouthwatering BBQ. From the first phone call, they were helpful, honest, and clear about what to expect. You don’t always get that kind of care these days — but here, you do.

It’s rare to find food this good and people this thoughtful. If you’re even remotely close (or not — we obviously weren’t!), do yourself a favor and make the trip. Totally worth it.

My only regret is I did not take their suggestion and grab more of the sauce!

Can’t say enough good things about this business and the fine people there. Fresh shrimp? Yep. They can get it. Fresh oysters shucked or unshucked? Yep. They can handle that two as well as crab legs for a special event. Got that too. I tried to throw a wrench at em 2 yrs ago and mentioned that I wanted to cook a whole alligator for the ga/ fl football game. Yep, just smiled and said “I’ll need 2 weeks to get that”. A great price on prime grade ribeye steaks cut just the right way. Oh, I forgot to mention that they do have bbq and all the fixins and you won’t find any better around. If you’re in Washington, ga stop by. You’ll be glad you did.alligator 2023 just off the cooker

I’ve had BBQ from this place for many years. I live out of town and I have never had any BBQ as good as Washington Food Market! The Brunswick stew is amazing! I’ve tried some from other restaurants and they do not compare to the stew here. Their other items are great as well.

The customer service is good. The cobblers and broccoli casserole was great. Interesting enough, instead of pecan pie, they have pecan cobbler. The sausage dog was good. The steak and gravy and macaroni and cheese was edible. Heard that the ribs are good but did it wasn’t available to try.

I love this place. I don’t eat BBQ but once a month, but will drive the 30 miles to get the best BBQ and stew, along with other sides, I have ever had. The owners are wonderful and treat everyone with a kindness that is becoming a rarity these days. I recommend Washington Food Market to anyone that loves good BBQ.

Washington Food Market has been a staple in our community my whole life. They have the absolute BEST BBQ & Stew I’ve ever had. Not to mention their ribs and southern sides!! It has always been family owned and operated. If you’re coming through Washington, you don’t want to miss this iconic market.

Washington Market has some of the finest food you will ever eat! From the chopped Bar-B-Que to the Chicken or the Ribs, it’s all outstanding. The Brunswick stew is wonderful. The vegetables are well seasoned and delicious! Washington Market will not be the fanciest place you’ve ever eaten at but you will not fine better southern food or friendlier folks to serve you! Go and enjoy!
