Our server was amazing, but the sushi chef is a different story. We come here for the Ocean Palace which is the most expensive sashimi platter you can get there. It includes an assortment of sashimi, shellfish, caviar on a bed of ice.

When our platter came out, they gave us a bunch of cheap fish, no caviar and wasn’t even on a bed of ice. When we asked about it the chef spoke loudly saying “I gave them extra pieces of fish.” Just because you gave us 1 extra piece of sashimi doesn’t count for you leaving out everything else! The platter was missing caviar, scallops, seared tuna, octopus and squid.

He then gave us our scallops, caviar and seared tuna which wasn’t seared. He was so lazy to sear it, he just sprinkled some seasoning on a piece of tuna. He was so lazy, he didn’t even put it on ice!! When we asked about the octopus and squid, he said that he was out of it. If you don’t have enough of the sushi to make the ocean palace then say so! If something cost $60 and you’re out of a lot of items, it doesn’t mean you can cheapen the plate, you still give $60 worth of stuff. We’re spending a lot of money and he basically tried to rip us off, that’s stealing from a customer!!

If you’re a sushi chef, take pride in what you do. People get expensive platters for the good pieces of sashimi, for quality, variety and presentation. This was so disappointing. Good thing I’ve gotten this before so I knew what’s supposed to be on it. He tried to rip us off, that really made us mad!

Refer to my pics to see what the ocean palace is supposed to look like and what he tried to rip us off with before we said something about it. Don’t let them steal from you.

Love their food. I frequently order the sushi, and my coworkers get the hibachi regularly. The price is decent, and even on the low side for sushi in Jackson. Well worth the money paid.

I’m not terribly impressed with the staff. Your experience will very much depend on who you get. The girls there are very nice and friendly, prompt with their service, and knowledgeable about the menu. If you get other servers, you are likely to be met with unprofessional conversation, yelling across the restaurant, laziness, and sloppy service. I feel like more attention to who they have representing the business in the front of the house will bring higher customer satisfaction and better reviews.

Overall, definitely recommend this place. Would probably advise take out over dine in experience.

My lovely assistant and I visited this establishment around 1:45 p.m. for lunch. It took about 5 minutes to get seated in a restaurant that had only three customers. Once we were seated the service was not good at all. Before we were finished eating the owner (asian female) interrupted our waitress from attending to us for the purpose of closing the restaurant. At that point the owner verbally communicated to us that they were close. We felt rushed and the attitudes made us feel as though we were being kicked out right after we finished eating. When I expressed my dislike in the way we were treated, she then began to tell us that we should not have been seated in the first place. We had the worst feeling of lack of appreciation ever. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. It seems that customer service is lost. My office is downtown, walking distance from this restaurant and I have a full menu in the office. Once I returned to the office I took the menu and dropped in the trash. I felt that it was indicative of their service.

World class sushi!

I recently spent a week in Japan, and have lived in San Francisco for years, so I know good sushi when I taste it.

Don’t be fooled by the exterior, or the “up and coming” neighborhood, this place has some of the best sushi you will ever taste.

We paid $74 for 2 of us for lots of appetizers, several amazing sushi dishes, dessert and drinks (with tip). The staff are also incredibly friendly, and the chef is an “iron chef winner.

This place is a little hidden gem -go out of your way to go here -it’s more than worth it. We loved this place!

Great sushi and large variety, they also have hibachi. The bar is great with a wonderful staff. Jason there makes some of the best mixed drinks and is very hospitable. Plenty of seating with short wait times on being served.

The food is excellent and the service we had was quite possibly the best we’ve had in an age! The waitress we had went over and beyond to ensure we had want we wanted and was super sweet to boot. The sushi was outstanding and the cosmo I ordered was plenty strong. If you like sushi and good service, this is a must!

I went to dinner here on a weekday. The waiter we had was …drunk… and very unprofessional (ate candy in plain sight, didn’t bring me the tea I asked for). He told me my original sushi order was rubbish and told me he’d bring something else – which he did. He yelled to my friend across the restaurant. Wasn’t very impressed with the food (for the price) and the service was distressingly sub par.

To me Wasabi was just okay. The food i had to me was just okay but their service was very good. The prices to me are a little extreme also. The most honest explanation i can give is some people love them. To me its that place I go when my friends outvote me that is good enough I won’t launch a major protest or begging fit to not go.
