Stopped in for an afternoon meal with my daughter. Kids are sometimes difficult when it come to food, so when she recommended this place I didn’t hesitate to visit. We didn’t get to fancy with the food selections but they have plenty of options for sushi rolls.

I just had another fantastic meal at Wasabi Bistro in the heart of the Woodforest community in Montgomery, and I can’t stop raving about it. This place has quickly become my go-to for consistently delicious food and a genuinely enjoyable dining experience.

First off, the location couldn’t be more convenient. Whether you live in Woodforest or you’re just in the Montgomery area, it’s an easy spot to get to. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is just right: modern, clean, and inviting. It feels elevated enough for date night or a celebratory dinner, but still relaxed and comfortable for a casual sushi fix on a random Tuesday. There’s a warm, friendly energy that makes you feel right at home.

Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible. The sushi is always fresh, beautifully plated, and generously portioned. I’ve sampled quite a few rolls, and their signature ones—like the Volcano Roll—never disappoint. The flavors are balanced, the ingredients are top-notch, and you can tell a lot of care goes into every dish.

And it’s not just sushi. The Thai side of the menu is equally impressive. Their Pad Thai is hands-down one of the best I’ve had in the area—bright, tangy, perfectly sauced, and bursting with flavor. The Drunken Noodles and curry dishes are equally delicious. It’s rare to find a spot that excels at both Japanese and Thai cuisine, but somehow Wasabi Bistro pulls it off.

What really keeps me coming back—beyond the food—is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They remember regulars (which I guess I am now!) and are always happy to make recommendations or chat about the menu. Whether I’m popping in for a quick lunch at the sushi bar or settling in for a slower dinner out on the patio, I always feel taken care of.

And the value? Totally on point. The quality of the ingredients and the consistency in execution more than justify the prices. Every meal feels like money well spent.

Honestly, Wasabi Bistro checks every box: amazing and diverse food, great atmosphere, attentive service, and a prime location. Whether I’m craving fresh sushi or something spicy from the Thai menu, I know I’m in for a great meal. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is absolutely worth the drive—every single time. I’ll be back again soon… probably way too soon.

Food was okay.

The reasoning behind my review was because of sanitation!!! The owner was coughing up an absolute storm walking from the front desk to the kitchen not even covering his mouth! The servers looked embarrassed and even asked if he needed to drink water. He didn’t care, we even asked the servers if he needed to go home!! This went on the entire time we were there so about an hour? Better yet, now my 1 year old has Croup!! Don’t know if that’s related but nonetheless, it was disgusting. No respect for your customers deserves you no business!

Our first time to visit Wasabi Bistro, and it won’t be our last. The owner, Kate, waited on us, and was very pleasant and friendly. I like to joke and kid with people, and Kate can hold her own. She laughed and joked right back. A sweet lady she is. That said, the atmosphere, food, and service was top notch.
Best Wonton Soup I’ve ever tasted. Great General Tso’s Chicken. Great Sushi.

This is a good sushi joint! The sushi is tasty and fresh. I’ve had better but for this price you can’t beat it. The atmosphere Is very calm and pleasant. There’s a really cool painting all around the ceiling area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was really nice to see the owner/manager talking to everyone and knowing people’s names ( I’m sure they are regulars) but it’s still super nice to see friendly restaurant interactions.

We came for lunch on a weekday. Very nice, clean friendly staff. Most importantly very good food, but with 1 substantial issue.

Appetizers were great; tempura is fried perfect, gyoza were nicely browned.

Lunch bento were a great variety for the kids. I got the chirashi and here is where the issue was – the rice. With an Asian upbringing we take rice seriously, different grains for different purposes and dishes.

For sushi, you’d expect short grain sticky rice, that holds together. As opposed to a Chinese long grain where the grains, purposefully, separate from each other. My chirashi was made especially difficult to eat because I should be able to get a piece of fish, a clump of rice and it holds together – unfortunately, this was not the case (-1 star).

Becsuse I was there lunch, we didn’t try any nigiri, but I’m hopeful the rice holds together. Perhaps the wrong rice was scooped into the chirashi bowl, and this is just a one off issue.

That said, everything was delicious and I would return. If I find that this was just an isolated issue I’ll update the review.

We were looking for a restaurant we hadn’t been to before and were craving Asian cuisine. We decided to try this restaurant and boy were we delighted!
The waitress was so sweet and helpful with the menu as we also wanted to try a sushi but it’s not our forte.
We were also so kindly greeted with what we believe was the owner. Everyone made us feel so welcome.
The atmosphere is so cute and cheerful and the food was fantastic. We will certainly be back.
We highly recommend for multiple reasons. I don’t typically do reviews unless I’m highly impressed.

One of our favorite places to go. The spicy edamame is to amazing as well all the other but the sauce on the edamame is amazing. I get a side of it and put it on my food or dip my food in it.
