The flavor was decent, but the rice under EVERY piece of sashimi completely fell apart, which made it hard to enjoy.
That usually means the sushi rice wasn’t cooked right or wasn’t pressed well.
The noodles we ordered were good, though the portion could be a bit more generous.

This is some of the most authentic sushi I’ve had in washington state. Incredible tuna selection and fluffy rice for the nigiris. I would highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for some quality sushi!

**TL;DR:** A must-visit for fresh and delicious Japanese cuisine. Our party enjoyed crispy karaage chicken, fried tempura, tasty miso soup, and expertly made sushi rolls. The talented and accommodating owner, along with a pleasant atmosphere, makes this restaurant a top recommendation.

**Full Review:**
If you’re seeking fresh, tasty, and expertly prepared Japanese cuisine, look no further. This restaurant is an absolute gem, and our party left thoroughly satisfied and impressed. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional.

We started with the crispy, juicy karaage chicken, which was perfectly fried to a golden brown and incredibly flavorful. The fried tempura, consisting of shrimp and vegetables, was light, crispy, and wonderfully satisfying. The subtle yet tasty miso soup served as a perfect prelude to the main event.

The star of the evening was undoubtedly the sushi rolls. Each platter was a masterpiece, featuring fresh salmon, tuna, and other delicacies. The precision in preparation was evident in every bite, with no fishy flavors or odors—just pure, clean, and delightful taste. The sushi was a testament to the skill and dedication of the chef, who clearly takes pride in their craft.

The owner of the restaurant is not only talented but also incredibly accommodating. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to our dining experience, making us feel truly welcomed. An added bonus for families is the bowl of candies available for young ones as they leave, a thoughtful gesture that surely delights the little ones.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant and inviting, with a TV rolling interesting programs in the background, adding to the relaxed vibe. It’s a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great meal with friends or family.

This restaurant gets a complete and total recommendation from a satisfied client. The combination of fresh, expertly prepared food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service makes it a standout choice. Whether you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply looking for a fantastic dining experience, this place is very much worth visiting.

Best Sashimi I have had in the upper PNW! The quality of fish is something comparable to a Japanese Fish market in Tokyo. Great fresh flavors!

Haven’t visited Wasabi Bay in a few years. Our last visit made us regret not visiting more. Sushi was amazing, huge portions. Rolls were unique, and also incredible portions. Staff was on point, friendly and helpful deciding on some options. We will definitely go back! Only downside, is they are a fairly small establishment, so can’t easily seat large parties, keep the size 6 and down for easier seating.

Couldn’t be happier with our take out we got today. We ordered several rolls along with handrolls. We also got tempura soft shell crab, hamachi kama and a sashimi platter. The food has never disappointed me when I use to dine in. Now we do take out. Last time we got a big order was in October for my birthday but we will continue to order and support Wasabi Bay. Sushi is always fresh and tasty. I look forward to continuing to get my sushi fix from this restaurant. I hope we can all try if we can to support those restaurants we love who need extra support during these trying times. If you need a great place for sushi try them.

This is hands down our favorite sushi spot — we’ve been coming here for years! I’m pretty sure the Sex in the City roll is the best sushi roll in the world. Incredible food, amazing service, every single time.

FABULOUS FOOD!
I realize this spot may not need yet another great review, however, I do want to share, as finding a good sushi spot can be challenging.
I ordered in person for take out. There were only two tables seated and I was told my order would take 40 minutes. Apparently they do a HOPPING take out business. The host/server at the front was very nice and polite, when asking for extra ginger and offering to pay, said “no problem, no problem” and there was no charge.
My order – over $100. First-Jalapeno Teck, just CRAZY YUM! 2 Regular rolls, one of which was Ichi ( Daughter-in-law said was the BEST Ichi roll EVER). 2 Specialty – Popcorn Lobster and Spider Fantasy (BOMB.COM!) The sashimi – my FAVE superwhite tuna and yellowtail were incredibly fresh and BUTTERY. And the tempura veggies, oh the tempura veggies!! I don’t know the secret of how they do it, but I have NEVER had tempura veggies to-go that stay THAT CRIPSY!
Cudos to the owners and the chefs. It may be a bit pricey, but a VERY worthwhile treat!! If you like sushi/sashimi, you MUST try this place!!

Great fresh sushi, we love the chirashi bowl, it’s huge with variety kind of fish. Different from the last time we came. The sushi combo A was also plenty and delicious. It’s pricy but reasonable for the portion and quality.
12/26: Went again for the chirashi, hands down still the best in town! it has sliced salted macarel and kazunoko/ salted herring egg that I dont see served in any other chirashi bowl we had and we had tried many places. Thank you, Wasabi Bay!
