Not from IA – happily a food snob. Had multiple Michelin Star Japanese/Sushi – spots around the globe.

Wasabi impressed me on the Sushi end of things. Solid quality. I had the Sake, Unagi, Hamachi, and Spicy Tuna Roll. All of them were fresh and tasted good, the Hamachi was exceptional.

The rolls are done properly, meaning the rice ratio is on point.

The Rice Lager was interesting and an overall good selection of beer / liquor.

It’s a bit expensive, but getting quality Sushi to land locked Iowa certainly can’t be easy so it’s worth it!

The staff were all nice and took good care of me.

I will def be going back to try the Ramen.

My fiancee and I went for dinner at Wasabi tonight and holy buckets! Everything was AMAZING! Such a difference from the last time we had eaten from here! Everything was super hot and fresh. Excellent service and food!!

Not nearly as good as it usually is and that’s a huge disappointment! He had the beef lo mien, flavor was right, but the noodles were like eating glue and way way overcooked. I had the tempura battered California roll and my rice was gummy and the tempura batter was so thick it wasn’t cooked all the way thru and the slices…holy cow! Look at them!! Our Dasher Micah was awesome! Rang the doorbell and sent me a pic that it was there. That was a 1st and very very appreciated!! But for $40 Wasabi, I’m not happy

We researched which Japanese restaurant to dine in this area and decided on Wasabi restaurant chain. It offers a unique blend of Asian flavors, but the main theme is Japanese.

The generous food portions were noticeable. I did like the kimchi fried rice. I think the ramen is a better choice, but there were some hits and misses to the attention to details, like the ramen soup-to-noodles ratio, the amount of wood ear mushroom used, and it depends on how one defines wonton vs dumpling. Overall, the ambiance and service are satisfactory. Their menu has it own characteristic. I think it was worth our visit.

This place is great for a date night. Dishes are aesthetically pleasing but the quantity/price ratio is bad. You don’t get a lot of food for how much you pay.

Everything looks great on camera, tastes decent, but just not very filling.

The atmosphere is really nice as well.

Pretty yummy food
It was pretty dead when we got the restaurant so it was quiet and peaceful. The food was a little slow but came out in a reasonable amount of time. Octopus was a little over cooked making it a little tough. Beef was delicious though and very moist.

Food was mid at best for a $38 bill. Our service was horrible, no one was at the front to greet us and our server Lin was extremely short and rude. As soon as we sat down we started with waters and she acted like that was the go ahead to ignore our table. She came around twice once to order and another to give us our check. The food was subpar for its cost- the noddles were over cooked and the curry was bland for being advertised as spicy. She stood over my shoulder watching me sign the bill and put 0% for the tip. Horrible food, horrible service don’t recommend.

My first time going here but my friends took me, go almost every time they’re in town. It’s an elegant looking atmosphere and the food is phenomenal considering it’s sushi it’s going to be in the upper range in price compared to other places. But it’s well worth it.

Tuesday night around 5:30-6 walked in and stood at the host stand for about 10 to 15 min gentleman at the bar, a red haired waitress and brunette walked past me 3 times and not one said a single thing just stood at the bar and talked, restaurant was empty can now understand why. Don’t recommend.

Their sushi party platter was a great mix of different sushi rolls. They could probably slightly modify the available options in the platter to more standard rolls such as salmon avocado. Overall, great option to share with a party of 4-5 people.
The service and ambience was good, and portion sizes were pretty good!
