We were there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. They hit the mark with service. The food was ok though. The soup of the day was curry squash (or pumpkin) it was delicious. Creamy and rich. The French onion soup missed the mark. It was very condensed and salty. A lot of onion. The cheese was tossed on top but not melted. I couldn’t finish it as it’s so salty. We ordered duck, NY strip (special of the day), veal. All the meat was cooked perfectly. The only down side was the veggies for each dish were all the same. It all came with green beans and two carrots. The coined potatoes for the NY strip was unevenly cooked and blend. Didn’t really add much to the dish. The sausage that came with the duck was delicious. The mashed potatoes with the veal tasted almost like box potatoes. For desert we had pecan pie and pistachio cheesecake. The pecan pie looked premade and then when they were warming it up, it unfortunately burn the top and the bottom. It tasted burned and I didn’t finish it. The pistachios cheesecake was very creamy and full of creamy milky taste. The caramel sauce was grainy and not smooth. Overall, the service was 100%. The food was just ok as it has some flops in each dish.

An intimate and curated experience. We came for a date night and enjoyed their drink menu (there’s a story behind it, so ask!). They pay great attention to detail to ensure plates are timed well, cups are full, and we appreciated the menu recommendations. The duck was hands down the best we’ve had. The hangar steak was flavorful but the fries had too much cheesy sauce for my preference. We took a risk and ordered the kangaroo – not a gamey as you’d think but a slight chewy texture. To finish, the pecan pie was a must try. We loved the intimate atmosphere and friendly staff. If you’re into French cuisine, you’ll love it!

Upscale dining with a cozy feel. Exotic menu choices that are seasonal, there was kangaroo on the menu. The potato soup was the best I have ever eaten. Espresso martini had real espresso coffee, would go back to just have one of those.

Came here for my birthday and it was so nice! The service was fantastic and everyone who worked there seemed like they just absolutely wanted to be there. It was very refreshing! The food was really good! I got the Ahi Tuna with wasabi whipped potatoes and it was such a flavor bomb of a meal! My husband and I definitely plan on coming back to try their different menus Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!!! We’ll be back!

We celebrated our 21st anniversary here tonight, and this restaurant has always held a special place in our hearts. It’s been a favorite of ours for well over a decade—where we’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and countless nights of truly amazing dinners.
Recently, the original owners sold the restaurant to a new couple who are continuing the legacy of this incredible place. We were excited to stop by, celebrate our anniversary, and experience it under the new ownership. I can honestly say… tonight did not disappoint.
The food was outstanding from start to finish—appetizers, entrées, and dessert were all absolutely perfect. The cocktails were spot on, and the entire experience felt just as special as always.
It’s wonderful to see such a beloved restaurant continue so beautifully. This place has always been a favorite, and it still is. Perfection then, perfection now—we can’t wait to come back! ❤️ ️

Amazingly elegant and exotic food and atmosphere! I had the Lobster Rangoon for my appetizer and the Schnitzel with Macaroni And Cheese for main course and a dessert of French Milk Mousse to finish things off!
This place even has cocktails sans alcohol, as mine had Sprite substituting for the alcohol! I definitely appreciate the alcohol free list, as I don’t enjoy the taste of most alcoholic anything.
If this isn’t an established five star restaurant, I’d say it gives off the vibes of one!

My husband and I went here tonight for our Anniversary dinner and I have to say for context, we’re usually quite the critics but this has got to be the best experience at a restaurant we have ever had. 10/10 for everything, the service was fantastic from beginning to end. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection. Our drinks were delicious. That pecan pie was phenomenal! The entire feel of the restaurant was comfortable and yet fancy at the same time. This was our first time ever going here as well and we will for sure be going back for our special dates. Thank you!

I’ve been traveling to Southern Pines for decades, and Chef Warren’s was a great find.. . Back when Warren and I had a little less white in our beards.:)
Sitting at the counter is highly recommended. Get a front-row seat to the prep, the creativity, and the rhythm of the kitchen. Watching the team work together, you can tell they’re pros who genuinely care about every bite they send out. Dinner and a show:)
I was really glad to see that even with a change in ownership, they’ve kept the heart and soul of what Warren originally built.
Big shout-out to the service team: friendly, attentive, and welcoming, without ever feeling rushed or forced.
Highly recommended. . and confident whatever you order, you’ll taste the passion behind it.

I had an exquisite meal here last week! I’m moving soon and this was the perfect place to share an evening with friends that I will long cherish. Kory created an amazing pistachio cheesecake. Our server Emily was attentive, warm and efficient. An evening at Chef Warrens will be a tradition for me when I return to the Pines to visit. A heartfelt thank you for not only for the incredible meal, but also for making me feel so celebrated.

We went to Chef Warren’s for the first time yesterday and overall it was pretty good. The Sweetbreads vol-au-vent was my personal favorite and my husband’s favorite was the grilled octopus which was cooked very well. I think they missed on the lobster Rangoons. It was well cooked, and you could taste buttery lobster within it, but I don’t understand why they would pair a cream cheese heavy fried dish with a mayonnaise based sauce. It didn’t make sense to me, so I didn’t use much of that and wished I had had a tangier sauce. The mixed drinks were delightful, the service was wonderful, and the coffee at the end (French press) was pretty good though we’ve had better elsewhere. As an aside, I wish they had more than one vegetarian main on their menu.
