I had not eaten here in years. They are famous for their chili and chili dogs.
I was very disappointed. The chili dog was OK but not as good as I remember. But the chili was full – absolutely full – grease. I spent several minutes getting the grease out with my spoon and putting it on my chili lids. It congealed quickly. Definitely grease and not a sauce.

We always look forward to a trip around Hattiesburg, MS so that we can make a stop at Ward’s. I love this place and all that it offers. This particular stop was for breakfast and the patty sausage biscuit did not disappoint, as usual. The lady at the register was extremely nice. The place was pretty clean to be an older building, looks like the staff takes care of it pretty well. I pretty much always have a good experience at this location on Hwy 49. We’ll always recommend Ward’s for any meal.

Wr ALWAYS eat at this Ward’s when we travel from Cullman, AL to Brooklyn. We eat their breakfast and their chili burgers. We ALWAYS have to get a “Ward’s fix” and this is the best one to do that.

Update: 4/22/23 I decided to stop by to get a chicken strip basket. The below picture is what I was surprised to find I paid $15 for. NEVER AGAIN!!! Popeye’s and Raisin’ Cane’s don’t even charge that much for 4 or 5 piece meals!!! Rediculous on so many levels!!!
Customer service is excellent how ever, I fail to see how the health department gave this facility an A rating. Bugs in light fixtures in kitchen area visible from the service counter, air vents and air return vents caked in dust. For folks with bad to severe allergies it would not be a suitable place to dine in. As for food, I got the quarter combo with spicey fries and sweet tea. Spicy fries were good and the sweet tea would be pretty close to the top of my list for good sweet tea. The quarter pounder left some to be desired as the hamburg pattie on my burger was for the budget burger and they were very stingy condiments with the exception of pickles this visit. They folks of this particular diner need to go to the Wards location in Prentiss, MS. It is by far the best Wards I’ve been to in a 100 mile radius!!!

Stopped for breakfast and ordered a sausage gravy biscuit. I was served an overcooked, cold plate of food. I asked for an exchange and was told it would be a $4.00 up-charge for a correction of their mistake. I respectfully declined and will not be back to this location.
