First time there. I ordered shrimp subgum chop suey with extra bean sprouts. For the first time in many years, I actually enjoyed my chinese food. It was near perfect. Well done, good job! I will be returning for more. Yum

Moved from LA to Detroit a few years ago. Really good quality Chinese food – some of the best I’ve had. It is not overly favored, not salty and tastes authentic. Highly recommend!!

Food is great. Kitchen is one of the cleanest ive ever seen. I used to deliver for them so I had kitchen access. Seeing how the kitchen ran is what made me try the food and I was impressed. Owner lady is super nice. Decent prices.

I was at someone’s house who was ordering here, and as a vegetarian I went with the vegetable chop suey, as Wan Kow doesn’t offer tofu. The vegetables aren’t specified but I’ve never had a problem with what I’ve received at a Chinese restaurant. What I got was about 80% bean sprouts, 20% snow peas, green bell peppers, and mushrooms. No broccoli, baby corn, or bok choy. Overall, very disappointing for a vegetarian. Adding a second star as our order was accurate and prepared quickly.

Solid four stars. Food is slightly above average for Cantonese style cuisine. Most of the food was too salty. Delicious carb Rangoon—delicate and flavorful.

Definitely a good contender! I recommend beef lo mein and the Wan Kow Special! Egg rolls are always a great call! Personally didn’t enjoy their take on the egg drop soup and sesame chicken but they have a lot of great options still!

I usually order shrimp egg food young but I added shrimp fried rice as well. My shrimp food young was terrible this time but my fried rice qaz Excellent. I called as soon as I noticed how it looked and asked if the chef was in and I was assured that the same person made my food. It looked jet black on the inside but I tried it anyway. I was furious and this place is not around the corner. I’m usually so pleased with my purchase. I’m not sure if I’ll go back. This a takeout restaurant.

I don’t know how Wan Kow has so many negative reviews, their Chinese is honestly the best we’ve ever had, hands down! We usually get the pepper steak, almond boneless chicken and sesame chicken. Seriously, the meat is quality (not rubbery, chicken is all white meat with thin breading) vegetables are always thick and fresh, and the portions are HUGE! We come here probably once a month and it never disappoints!!

Small portions. Spent $50 for pint size portions that were more vegetables than meat. Try feeding a family of 6 with that.

The lo mein with shrimp was delicious! It didn’t have too much sauce. It was perfect. I would return and order that again! The fried rice was just okay. It wasn’t our personal favorite. The customer service was pretty good. There are lots of tables and chairs outside which was wonderful!
