This was our first time visiting. Food was amazing! Presentation was beautiful and our server Rhonda was exceptional. She answered all our questions and even shared her favorite items on the menu.

Fun old school Florida restaurant has been around for over 100 years! Of course they emphasize fish and they provide fresh, right from the gulf varieties. They have a revolving daily fresh fish and have a selection of how to prepare them. Super popular restaurant, friendly staff and seating outside and in. Every time I go I always see a large party of friends having fun and enjoying their meals. Great place to stop by and skip the old chain restaurants.

This place gets a 10 out of 10 from me and my family. We had a short wait but the waiting area is nice with benches, bar tables, Jenga for the kids to play, complimentary water and fans to stay cool. My oldest daughter and I shared a crab pot with snow crab, shrimp, potatoes and corn. One of my youngest daughter’s tried her own snow crab for the first time. My husband got grouper and coconut shrimp which was served with an orange marmalade. My other daughter got the chicken strips. The seafood is caught fresh daily and was absolutely amazing!! It is the best seafood we have ever had. This place is full of character, love and history of the restaurant and fish market which makes it even more inviting! Thank you Walt’s for giving us a great memory and filling our bellies on our family vacation. We will be seeing you next time we are in Sarasota!

We stopped into Walt’s on a recommendation from a friend and so glad we did so! My wife ordered the Lobster Bisque and I had the Firecracker Grouper Bites for appetizers. The bisque was excellent, creamy and light with lots of meat. The fish bites were wonderful, crispy and hot in the center with an almost Asian General Tao type of flair to the sauce/glaze – again to emphasize, wonderful. We went with a Swordfish Caesar Salad and Bacon Wrapped island Scallops for our mains, both were superb and healthy in portion sizes! Our server Christine F. was most helpful, speedy and very knowledgeable with a kind & pleasant demeanor and a smile to boot, not a given anywhere anymore since Covid it seems, but this gal treated us very nicely and was top notch. Five stars and we could not eat it all. We will certainly return here again, nice value and excellent quality. Thanks Walt’s for a super meal and we enjoyed the cool old school Florida vibe and decor . Don’t change a thing!!!! If we lived here we would buy from your fish counter to grill at home as well.

This place is phenomenal! We were down for the week visiting family when we found this gem. We noticed it was busy constantly so we knew it had to be good. Went on a Friday night, only waited about 30 min for 5 of us. Lobster bites were so so good. Snow crab was so sweet and buttery! Drinks are strong and tasty. Def try the key lime pie and creme brule. We’ll be back next time we are in town.

This is a unique restaurant and experience. The food was great and lost of differently prepared seafood. I had the Mahi Cuban and the wife had the snapper melt. Both amazing. We also had oysters with jalapeno cheddar bacon topping. Very good. Its everything it says it is. Well done Walts

1 pm and we snagged an outdoor table in shade with a breeze. Shannon was a friendly and courteous server. Started with grouper/crab bites -4 delicious big ones. Moved into the fresh/blackened shrimp with two sides & so-co (southern comfort) entree. The Thai shrimp dipping sauce was great-had a bite itself. The grouper & scallops were accompanied by cornbread and asparagus. Delicious and fresh. Our second time there.

Walt’s was a terrific experience for us to enjoy after a day with visiting family. Having never been to this restaurant, and only relying on Google reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by this 1918 location. The service was top notch from the very first greeting until we walked away from our table with happy stomachs. The food was even better! You name it, between the four of us adults, we ate it— lobster, clams, grouper, mahi-mahi, shrimp, and scallops. We even had desserts and enjoyed them right to the very last forkful. If you happen to find yourself in Sarasota craving good seafood, then this restaurant is a must.

Came for lunch during stone crab season. We sat inside. I felt the portions were good for the price. We also got one of their lunch specials which had a good amount of seafood. Just what we expected for a seafood place.
