Food was delicious; server Bowers was friendly & did a great job; Tuna poke was perfect; char-grilled seafood plate with substituted triple tail was perfectly done including the sea scallops. Lobster appetizer was very tasty & not heavily battered. Bloody Mary was very good

Went to this place for the first time. Well I ordered the blackened red snapper garlic green beans and coleslaw but meantime the waitress brought us some smoked fish dip and crackers. So first the fish dip was amazing, but the blackened red snapper and green beans stole the show for me. I ate everything and was wishing there was more. If you are visiting sarasota and love seafood… you better give this place a try. As far as me I’m hooked and will be back.
P.S. Meredith our waitress treated us like we were royalty. She was both funny and amazing. Thanks Meredith for a great experience.

This place was one of the top seafood places to visit in Sarasota. Every YouTube video I watched, recommended to visit this place. So I decided to visit this spot during my trip. We ordered, the Lobster bites, and two dishes from the market. We ordered a Red Snapper and a Florida Lobster as part of our main course. We ordered both the dishes in grilled format and selected Caribbean Coconut sauce with our respective sides. The restaurant also serves a smoked fish dip that they make based of the regular catch with crackers. The Caribbean Coconut sauce was complementing the lobster very well but the lobster felt a little bit chewy. The other dishes were very good though. The place can get really crowded and we did have to wait for about 35 minutes. The ambience and atmosphere is really cool. The walls are decorated with the history of the restaurant. The fish from the market is a very cool concept where you can see what’s available for the day and order your seafood accordingly.

How on earth does this place have so many good reviews? First the state of the table we were sat at was disgusting, dirty containers and open cracker wrappers.
My 4 year old wanted to just go to McDonalds and boy did she have the right idea, that would have been better and not $200.
On top of the food being down right gross, it was also cold. I literally couldn’t even stomach eating the chewy calamari, garbage bisque, or the Captains platter. Somehow they even messed up mashed potatoes and french fries. I don’t know what to say but don’t come here.
Everything had to have been pre frozen there is no way food that badwas fresh. They also advertise Maine Lobster but it was just a prefrozen Australian lobster tail. When I mentioned Maine lobster like the menu says and lobster claws the waitress looked very confused so I’m guessing they never had it and it is false advertising.

Great fresh seafood; we love the Ahi Tuna! Tiffany is usually our server and remembers what we like. She’s quick with the in-house made fish spread and saltines and a Bloody Mary for me. We usually get appetizers which have generous helpings — Tuna Sashimi and Tuna Poke Bowl. Large selection of fresh fish to take home.

Our first experience at Walt’s was quite positive with the exception of a 1 hour wait. We arrived at 5:30 and were able to take advantage of $6 and $1 off tap beer for happy hour. The complimentary smoked fish dip and crackers were delicious. We had a fish basket containing both grouper and flounder with two sides that included red roasted potatoes and garlic butter green beans. The food was very well done. We have been twice to Phillipi Creek and we think Walts is even better. It has also a fascinating history and it feels great to support a third-generation family run business. Are waitress was super friendly and attentive. Next time we visit Sarasota from our home base in Cape Coral we will definitely stop in again.

Went for dinner with family on a Friday evening. Great service. Had the conch fritters as an appetizer and then the grouper bowl as my main. Food was served quickly. The conch fritters were great. Tons of conch in the corn meal and spice batter that were fried just right. The main had the grouper that was cooked to perfection over a bed of rice and vegetables with this garlicky aioli sauce over the top. Dish was superb. Would recommend this place to all that love seafood. Parking is a bit tight and since the place has such good food it is popular and busy. Wasn’t super noisy and you could at least hear the people you are dining with.

Locally famous and highly recommended to us. Very busy and crab is over priced. One claw for $34. I got the stone sea pot thinking it has stone crabs in it but I was fooled. So I had to order w separate dish to taste what we came for. I probably won’t come back. The red snapper is ok.

Carla was my fabulous waitress tonight. So efficient, so pleasant and helpful. She anticipated my every need and timed the dinner perfectly.
I had the Treasure Chest special, two huge pieces of fried fish two huge scallops and two gigantic shrimp with street corn salad and french fries. A perfect amount of food and everything was delicious.
Parking is always a problem if you don’t get there early but they have now expanded options and after 5 o’clock you can park at the Pearl vision about a half a block away from Walt’s.
I love this place it’s very comfortable for me to be able to eat alone it’s great food served quickly and pleasantly

Went for lunch with a friend, and the food was hit or miss. The clam chowder was good, but the gumbo was quite mediocre. The grouper Reuben was excellent, but the Square Grouper sandwich was dry, and I left half of it on the plate. We probably wouldn’t be back, especially considering the half-hour wait to get a table.
