We discovered this little gem about a two years ago and have enjoyed every visit ever since! Finding a local gluten free restaurant isn’t the easiest, but we struck gold with this one! Service is always superb and the food is pretty much perfect. Courtney K. served us today and she made our visit so much more enjoyable. She’s super friendly and helpful, which we always appreciate. We got the Southwest Cobb Salad, California Bowl with the Salmon, Poi Parmesan Fries and Raspberry Almond Shortbread for dessert. All gluten free and all very delicious!

Went here last Saturday. Burger, Fries, smoothie (forgot to take the picture) and cheesecake were very good. My friend said his sandwich was good too. Definitely will be back 🙂 The woman we had as a waitress was very friendly and helped with advise on the menu and picking between dishes.

After visiting Ned’s Lighthouse, we stopped to have lunch at a gem in Mattapoisette. We were welcomed with smiles. The food was fresh and flavorful, the vibe was eclectic and full of character, and the service made it feel like we were regulars. Owner Kate personally came by and took our order — warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Can’t wait to come back!

Enjoyed dinner outside while listening to live acoustic music. It was a PERFECT evening. Our server was Courtney and she was fast and friendly. The pretzels were phenomenal and the California Bowl was delicious.

We seated outdoor in a nice sunny day so the ambiance was great. The menu seem to have a good balance of healthy stuff and decadent dishes. We had baked pretzel which was just alright. The crab cakes were very good. Waffle with short ribs was ok. Steak bowl was bland. Baked Cod with lemon was also average. The wine selections were quite good. The service was good.

Walrus was introduced to me about three-four years ago, and I’ve never been disappointed. Brought friends, and now it’s a regular destination for us all. My fiancée and I come here every Saturday for the food, but also the staff. They are so good, and welcoming. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

A gem of mattapoisett!! Everything seemed healthy. Crab cakes and pretzels were awesome appetizers. For main they had bowls with brown rice and veggies with different proteins. I had steak. Others had fish. My son had waffles. A great place for a 4!

Went here on a Saturday night..they did have outdoor dining with heaters.. Also live music.. We dined inside due to the weather.. Food was good.. Nothing that was fantastic.. The drink i had was awful bit in their defense im not big on vanilla tasting drinks i asked the waitress if it was over powering she said no.. It def was.. They still charged us for it even tho clearly seeing i did not drink it. Never offered anything else.. Not a huge deal breaker. But considering our meal came to about 100 for 2 ppl you would think they would of asked at least..

There were three of us . I was very excited to treat my friends because last time I was here it was a 5 star. This time unfortunately let us down. The staff was very pleasant but not attentive. The grill cheese was smothered in butter and grated cheese . Fries are thin but good .The fish sandwich was more batter than fish. Sweet potatoes fries were lukewarm warm and hard( over cooked).be careful for cross contamination my friend with celiac started feeling sick before we were done . She got a burger with fries( stated dedicated fryer) but she said she saw the cook use the same spatula to place grill cheese and then her burger.

What a yummy lunch at Walrus & Captain in Mattapoisett!!
We each had,
Aperol Spritz – Aperol, Prosecco, Club Soda, Slice of Orange
Walrus Panini – Port wine slow braised beef short rib, carmelized onions, arugula and cheddar cheese on sourdough bread with homemade sweet potato fries (this was the best sandwich I’ve had in a VERY long time)
And shared a Ned’s Açaí bowl – banana, strawberry, almond butter, cacao nibs, granola, coconut flakes and honey drizzle
Wow, wow, wow the flavors were incredible!! and service was really wonderful too……I have to say I enjoyed the outdoor dining and the great traditional 40’s/50’s pop playlist……..What a local gem!!
