We had a bridal shower today at Walnut Grill in O’Fallon and the experience was wonderful! The servers that took care of us were wonderful! The food was awesome! They met every expectation! Highly recommend having an event at this restaurant!

We went on a Saturday night, 7 pm. Not busy at all. Service was friendly, a little slow at times. The steaks were amazing. Delicious! The margarita was truly not good. The waiter was gracious and exchanged it for a different drink. The crème brûlée was creamy, delicious and sadly charred a bit too much. The floors were sticky? Good place. We would come again because of the gracious server and the great (great) steaks. We ordered both filet mignon and sirloin, cooked and seasoned perfectly.

It is a bit pricey, but overall worth it. We did the tater tot appetizers which are in Alfredo sauce covered with Gouda cheese bacon, candied jalapeños and green onions. Twas excellent. The burger was cooked perfectly to my request. Also the fries were crispy. Which may not seem a lot, but out of the last five restaurants That I have gone to, the fries when held out droop and sag. That is nothing but lack of attention to detail. But not here, the fries were excellent and burger was very good, albeit at $15 it better have been. The staff was very friendly and courteous overall positive experience. It’s not somewhere that I’ll be going to all the time with a prime rib sandwich, a burger and an appetizer it was $50 before tip

I took my daughters here for a daddy-daughter pre-dance dinner, thinking it would be a nice night. Boy was I wrong. We had reservations for 5:45 and were seated immediately. We ordered a few minutes later and our appetizer didn’t come out until 6:30–almost 30+ minutes for some brussel sprouts! At this point my daughters are getting antsy and are very hungry, but we get through it. The food finally comes out at 6:50–mind you, we needed to be at the dance at 7:00, so we’re already going to be late.

I then cut into my chicken–and–you guessed it! The chicken is raw. I call the waitress over who offers to take the chicken off the bill, but offers little else in the way of apology or anything. Even suggests I could take it home and finish cooking it at home. Great!

Then I get the bill and my brussel sprouts were full price despite the fact I ordered them during happy hour where they were supposed to be discounted. But, they came out after happy hour was over–shock–so I was charged full price for it.

Needless to say I will NEVER return to this establishment. Poor service and food poisoning are not my cup of tea.

This is an ok place. I have been here twice. The happy hours are reasonable. You get the drinks and appetizers for good price. Their drinks menu during happy hours is really good. The other time I had was during lunch which was ok. Was not worth the price. One time try restaurant

I’ve had a few old fashions in my life & it’s getting harder to find a good one (or even just decent).
Today I took the wife on a date at the Walnut Grill. I ordered one & was pleasantly surprised.
Right Bourbon, cherry, & did the orange correct. The fact that the bartender knew how to make it & had a conversation w/me about how to make them was awesome.
Definitely coming back a few times. & the food is wicked good.
My new favorite spot

Disappointing experience. I really wanted to like the Walnut Grill, but was thoroughly unsatisfied. We arrived at 12:00pm with two groups ahead of us. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. Seemed a little long, but we decided to wait it out and see. We only had a group of 5 so we thought, “Shouldn’t take long.” After watching the two groups ahead of us get seated AND three other groups who came in after us, we were finally seat at 12:30pm. Still within the time that they told us, but seemed strange that other groups that were seated prior to us. We were told that they had a Santa breakfast and the team was still trying to get everything cleaned up from that. Once we were seated we waited a good 5 minutes for anyone to bring us water or ask our drink order. It seemed almost like we had been placed in an area where there was no one assigned. With all the extra time we had our table had our order prepared so when the waiter came we gave him the drink and food order. Then began the wait. Our food did not come out until 1:00pm! Other tables around us were served quickly and we even saw other tables of the SAME SIZE be seated, order AND get their food prior to us receiving ours. I have no idea why that happened. We ordered normal menu items. The other strange thing that we noticed was the vast amount of uncleaned, empty tables. They could have easily seated us within 5 minutes of us walking in the door, but no one was cleaning tables. One lady came out and cleaned one of the tables while we sat and waited but that was it. When our food finally arrived EVERYTHING was lukewarm or cold. The potatoes were cold and the French toast tasted like it sat for a while. Since none of the dishes were warm it was obvious that they all just sat for some reason. Not sure why. If one of our dishes took longer to make it was not apparent. Overall just a disappointing meal. The taste of the food was good, but definitely not worth the hour wait. Unfortunately we probably will not be visiting here anytime soon.

Prime rib and French onion sandwich was tasty. The lobster bisque was ok. My husband didn’t complain about his wings.

Not great, still pricey. First (& last) time here. A bad omen started the meal it seemed, we were sat & water started dripping from the leaking roof splattering on our table. Ok, no big deal, the roof isn’t the cook/waitress’ fault. First, the tater tot appetizer wasn’t too bad, again, not great not terrible. Then it went all downhill. The Eggs Benedict were not as advertised, dry, no hollandaise, bland & sad. Ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon, instead a New York strip was brought out. Had the strip been good I wouldn’t’ve griped but it wasn’t. Tough & had rosemary garlic butter (not a rosemary fan, one of the reasons I ordered the Filet). The Filet was supposed to have a demi-glace instead, nope. Just a really tough (even for a strip) New York Strip & lots of rosemary laden butter. I brought this to the attention of the waitress who, without even glancing at the “evidence” argues with me telling me I’m wrong. She says she’ll get the manager, no manager ever shows. Eventually, the steak was taken off the bill (I’d tried 1 bite, found the rosemary, immediately done) so honestly the bill being corrected & the passable appetizer is where the extra star comes from. I try to be fair.
