Wally’s Wieners PVD – Providence, RI

We love Wally’s in Newport, excited to have another location closer to us in Providence. Only problem is that I can only eat so many hot dogs in one sitting!

Wallys Weiners in Wallys Weiners is a fun casual stop that does not take itself too seriously. Parking was easy which already puts it in a good spot for Newport. The inside is small but lively with a bar area that serves beer on tap which makes it feel more like a hangout than just a quick food stop.

They also sell a bunch of funny shirts sweaters and hats that match the playful vibe. They are definitely entertaining to look at but the prices might make you laugh and then slowly put them back on the rack. Still fun to browse while you wait for your food.

The staff were friendly and upbeat which made the experience better. The hot dogs themselves were good but could have been served a little warmer. Flavor was there but temperature mattered. The real winners were the smash burger and the fried pickles which were easily the best choices and the ones I would order again without hesitation.

Overall Wallys Weiners is a good time with friendly staff fun atmosphere and solid food if you order smart. Go for the smash burger grab a beer and enjoy the vibe even if you skip the merch.

Wally’s Wieners is a good spot if you’re hanging out in Newport and don’t want to wait or spend a fortune on a tiny lunch. Most of the restaurants in this area are pretty fancy and way too expensive or have long wait time for just a quick meal.

At Wally’s Wieners the service is pretty fast. I was starving and didn’t want to sit through a long, formal dinner, and they had my food out in no time. It is the kind of spot where you can grab your order and get back to walking around without waiting forever.

For the price, you really can’t beat it. The hot dogs are solid and they have some cool toppings, plus the smash burger is pretty good too. Unfortunately only option is American cheese for the burger.

It’s hard to find a cheap meal in this part of town that actually tastes good, but they definitely pull it off. The staff seemed cool and the whole vibe is very laid back and casual. They also have a bar inside. I noticed they serve beer and some cocktails.

In season they might be a lot busier and wait time might be too long. December 23th is the day of my visit.

If you’re tired of overpaying for food just because you’re in a touristy area, just go here. It’s simple, delicious, cheap, and way faster than anything else nearby.

Drooling over these weiners 🙂 Had the elote weiner and the truffle shuffle weiner and split some fried pickles and fries with my girlfriends. The place was packed, but the ladies serving had an awesome handle on everything and kept the excitement up for trying this landmark. Get at least two weiners!! You’ll eat them faster than you think

Trash service. Never been more embarrassed. Two of us went to this place on our short lunch break for a dog n a burger. We walked in around 12:10pm and ordered. There is about 8 bar seats and 4 tables available. We sat at one table and another couple walked in behind us and took another, leaving 2 whole table and bar stools still open. Our food came out relatively quick and we figured we would eat the dogs and take the burger for the road. THIS CLOWN told us to leave because we “didn’t specify we were dining in” so we basically are kicked out after paying $38 for 2 dogs 2 burger and 2 drinks, all bet we didn’t specify our exact plan?! For reference it’s 24 degrees outside today. I’ve never received worse service in my life especially with an EMPTY restaurant because I didn’t declare I was eating a single hot dog before leaving. Unreal. Will tell everyone including my entire crew of 40+ who will be here thru out the summer to never eat here. Unbelievable. Do better.

***just because it went viral on TikTok doesn’t mean it’s good***

I live close, I WANT to love it but it consistently has the most terrible service on the island. Once you order – don’t expect to hear back from the bartender or server. Tonight was especially horrible. Do not get the Rhody unless you want 90% unseasoned canned ground beef with 2 chopped onions, and while the kimchi is a good concept, it was rancid at best. This is all I ate. I also doordashed it a few nights ago (this same week) and they closed over an hour early but “accepted the order”, leaving me to wait almost an hour to find out they weren’t open during normal business hours. I’m done with this place.

ETA : I’ve read a ton of these reviews and the locals consistently say the same thing about the service and specifically the Rhody dog. There are responses assuring to address the staff but even 2 years later, people say the same thing. At least they’re making money off of tourist trapping, I guess.

We talked for over a year and traveled 3 and a half hours to visit Wally’s Weiner’s. We knew it would be the highlight of our vacation. Drinks were EXCELLENT, wieners were AMAZING, and we even got some merch. Our server Grace was very attentive and even though it was super busy we did not feel rushed at all what so ever, which was nice given how much we anticipated being there. 100% worth it.

We discovered this place through a recommendation, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip. The pancakes are absolutely the best, the menu is outstanding, and the service is unmatched. Ramon and Kat made our mornings in Newport unforgettable with their warmth, attention, and thoughtful local recommendations, going as far as helping us plan our next stop in New York. And the cooks are outstanding!! An exceptional experience and easily the best spot in town.

So I heard they have gluten free bread ! So excited, I haven’t had a wiener in ages . Parking sucks but it’s okay I havent had a wiener in about 8 years (allergy to the bread) so I’m good it’s worth it . Order 2 Rhody wieners to go $19.30 (ouch a bit steep for 2 weiners ) but okay I’m going to enjoy some delicious wieners Right?!. Give a $20 bill , cashier takes $20 doesn’t even attempted to give me any change. I’ve now paid $20 for 2 weiners. It’s okay though because I’m going to have 2 awesome wieners right ? NO , not even close to right. I got stale tasting bread with a wiener that well didn’t taste like a real weiner that I was used to ( NY Systems) all the “toppings” were in the bun not on top (nothing like the photos they advertise ) it was so underwhelming the Meat and wiener were not good and the bread as well but I’ll give a break on that because Gluten free bread can be tough . Didn’t even eat the 2nd one

Really good American style food with some modern twists. The only reason why I’m not giving it 5 out of 5 stars is the food came out surprisingly quick and it makes sense because the quality could’ve been a little better. The fries were a touch stale and same with the hotdog buns.

I got the Wynter Smashburger ($11) and it had that old school diner burger vibe to it. The bun was so soft and I love the flat top char to the burger. I wish I had a little more onion jam, though.

For hotdog, I got the Wally, El Jefe and chili cheese ($7 ea) – with my favorite being the El Jefe. The chipotle aïoli mixed with the pico de gallo and cheese sauce was bangin!

What I love about their food was how they incorporated cheese. It went perfectly on the burger, and their cheese sauces elevated each hotdog it was on. They also killed it with unique sauces as well like their Wally sauce.

Comfortable atmosphere inside, they have an upstairs area and all the waitresses & bartenders are really nice.

Grace was super nice and attentive, providing recommendations with a great knowledge of the menu. She recommended the Chai City espresso martini suggesting it was like Cinnamon Toast Crunch – and it sure does!
