We started with the Boom Boom Shrimp which came out hot and were similar to a buffalo shrimp but slightly sweeter. For the main course, I had the Mango Tuna Bowl and it was delicious, so fresh and very much like a poke bowl and beautifully presented. The portions were generous but not over the top. My husband had the cheeseburger which was HUGE and very flavorful and we ended up sharing bites back and forth because everything was so good.
There is bar seating with plenty of flat screens to watch your favorite team along with plenty of cold beer. Parking is not a problem. There is plenty of it. Overall, this place is definitely on the list to recommend to friends and family.
There’s no longer a wait at Island Wing Club — and the reason is Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux.
* 38 ultra hi def TVs. None faded and extremely clear.
* 48 Taps (24 draft offerings) plenty of cocktail options
This new sports bar has amazing food with a touch of New Orleans flavor. For being open only six days, I was impressed. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, everything ran smoothly. There are restaurants that have been open for years and still don’t operate this well. You can tell their team received proper training and has solid systems in place.
The prices were extremely affordable. My wife had the lemon chicken over grits, and I went with the jalapeño burger — both were excellent.
I do feel for the locally owned restaurants that don’t have the same buying power or the ability to compete with labor costs, especially with the increased minimum wage for tipped employees.
If they ever open another location, I’d love to see it go into the old Wild Wing spot in Tinseltown. It would definitely bring healthy competition to Island Wing Club and Mellow Mushroom.
Let’s Go! Walk-On Sports. Force the competition to be better or force them out.
The atmosphere is exactly what you’d want from a sports bar — bright, lively, and full of team spirit, with wall-to-wall TVs showing every game you can imagine. The Louisiana-inspired menu is full of flavor and variety, and everything we tried tasted fresh and made from scratch. Some of my favorites were the Boom Boom Shrimp, Sweet Chili-Glazed Fried Salad, and the Shrimp & Grits — all absolutely delicious! The Louisiana Platter was a true Southern feast, packed with flavor.
Our server Anna was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and quick with recommendations. The host Mackenzi greeted us with a warm smile, and we even got to meet Manager James and COO Partner Bobby, who were out chatting with guests and even shooting hoops with us — such a fun touch that really showed their enthusiasm for the brand.
Overall, Walk-On’s brings a perfect mix of great food, fun atmosphere, and genuine Southern hospitality. Whether you’re coming for a game, a meal with friends, or just to hang out, this place is worth the visit. Highly recommend checking it out — you’ll leave full and smiling!
Walk-On’s Hits a Home Run!
My group had the pleasure of attending the soft opening for Durban location tonight, and we are already calling it a success.
The atmosphere was vibrant, perfectly matching the sports theme—and the staff made us feel right at home, complimenting us on our jerseys!
The service was impeccable, which is particularly impressive for a soft opening.
Our server, Sienna (just like the Toyota minivan!), was super friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the menu. The staff consistently checked in, and every single dish arrived at the table fresh and piping hot.
The Food Lineup
We dove into a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious:
Wings: We started with the 18-piece, split between Buffalo (classic heat) and the savory, tangy Lemon Pepper. They were notably big and meaty—definitely worth getting.
Redfish Tacos & Sweet Potato Fries: I had the Redfish Tacos, featuring perfectly seasoned blackened fish topped with a bright, refreshing Mango Salsa. The side of crispy sweet potato fries with the dipping sauce was the perfect accompaniment.
Seafood Entrees: Another in our group enjoyed the Salmon (also with the delicious mango salsa), and two others raved about the hearty Catfish with Shrimp Étouffée—a true Cajun comfort dish that looked amazing.
Prime Rib Sliders: The final two members of our party enjoyed the savory Prime Rib Sliders, which looked like a great, meaty option for a game-day meal.
Overall, the variety of the menu is excellent, offering something for everyone, from traditional bar bites to quality seafood and comfort classics.
Congratulations to the entire team on a wonderful soft opening. We can’t wait to come back for the official launch!
You won’t be disappointed. Oh and there must be 50 large screen tvs and 20 different drafts.
Order was the cherry on top! Love the welcoming and warming atmosphere. The server was so sweet, she made sure to find the right sauce for my tuna bowl since I can’t do spicy. Thank you so much. We’ll be back for sure!
