Quaint little restaurant with lots of personality. The staff is friendly and you will find Tim, the owner in the kitchen letting you know what is good on the menu and coming out to talk to his customers.
The Half Rack of Ribs (6 large, cut, enough for two people) are cooked tender and moist to perfection. The hot BBQ is just hot enough, it has a bite but doesn’t linger.
The Fried Sguash is deep fried at exactly the right temperature to seal in the taste and keep the outside brown and crispy without a hint of grease.
Potato Babies are small potatoes wedges with a light batter and salted just right. Again, not greasy at all. They were as light as a baked potato.
I will definitely return to try more items on this menu and visit with the staff and regular customers. Very friendly atmosphere. It’s hard to find this kind of place anymore.

BBQ PORK SALAD
I wasn’t impressed with this salad. I did get take out but only had a five minute drive home. The meat was very tender and chopped in perfect per portion bites but the sauce was too much and over powering. That was all I could taste was sauce. It also had **raw onions and cheese. Half way through eating, the lettuce was soggy and standing in water. I don’t know if this is usual or if the meat may have been too hot.

We arrived 15 minutes before they were closing, they made sure we left with dinner for two. They made ribs for us for pick up the following day at 1.00pm. They had them ready for us when we arrived. Food was above +++++ very good, service was fantastic. Melted in your mouth tender. Thank you very much.

If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. The worst food I have had in a long time. BBQ is hard to mess up, but this place REALLY sucks. We payed for 1 BBQ plate & 1 chicken plate with baked beans and potato salad. Ending up getting home and both were chicken. The chicken was rubbery and soaked in water. Completely season-less. Their sauce comes from a bottle, it taste just like Great Value, actually worse. The baked beans are plain “Pork and Beans” they don’t even try to hide that. The potato salad was just ew. Typically, we rarely eat out, but just stopped by coming back from Collinsville. Huge mistake. $10.50 a plate and I ate one bite of everything and we both gave them to the dogs. Well…. They wouldn’t even eat it. Not sure how everything else is, but, I’d rather not find out if you cannot make BBQ chicken, baked beans, or potato salad enjoyable, nonetheless, edible. Take your money somewhere else.

Best barbecue, in an unlikely place. We were in the area unexpectedly and were extremely hungry. First the amazing smell of barbecue cooking on the huge grill outside caught our attention. We went inside and it smelled just as wonderful. You order your food at the counter and when it’s ready they bring it to your table. For $7.00 we had a barbecue pork plate with fried okra, slaw and Texas Toast and it was delicious, down to the last bite. They have everything from pork, chicken, beef or ribs, all at extremely reasonable prices and everyone there was friendly and made us feel at home. If you live in the area or you are passing through, as we were, Walk Hard BBQ is worth the stop.
