Great local spot. Extremely friendly owner/staff. You can’t beat the breakfast sandwiches. Meat, 2 eggs, cheese on a round roll for $4.25. Also great for lunch and homemade ice cream.

I was working in the area when I stumbled across this absolute gem. Great food, friendly service, and train themed decor left me with a full belly and smile on my face. Thank you Elsie!

Their fun train display for the kids made a great outdoor activity while inside options are limited!

Train desperately needs a paint job.
Lawn& parking area need to be cleaned up. Not appealing when you drive up to the place.
Staff( 2 young guys) lacked personality.
Came with 2 young children who wanted to sample a flavor that they had never had before. Was told that we don’t do tasting.
Very low on the ice cream flavors that we ordered. Mine had chunks of ice in it & cup wasn’t even filled.( was the bottom of the container)
VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

The prices are inexpensive and the food is great. They also have seasonal ice cream flavors. Such a nice place to bring the whole family. You can eat outside on the benches while the kids play on the wooden train or they can watch the toy train go around the track circuit, all while the real trains whistle by at the station. It’s a great location and a nice atmosphere, a local gem.

This is my sons absolute favorite place! He’s autistic and loves loves ice cream so if he ever has a crummy day this is the place to take him. He loves to see the train displays. The owner Tami is so nice and understanding of my son! We love the whistle stop!

Love their food and ice cream. The staff are very friendly too. My son is a train enthusiast, so the outside seating across from the railroad station is perfect. They also have a wooden train the children can climb into as well as a train table for toy train play. I recommend this place, even more so if a child in your life enjoys trains.

If you want to demonstrate how to lose local customers this place is a case study. After having visited for ice cream maybe a dozen times, I was with my 7 year old granddaughter today and the owner let me know that it’s too bad that a 7 year old can’t decide on a flavor, she absolutely could not have a teaspoon taste because she should know what X flavor tastes like. I used this as a teachable moment and told my granddaughter that you should never give your money to any business that makes it as difficult as possible to do business with them

Delicious ice cream from a creamery, sorbets and slishies will tickle your sweet tooth and bring joy to you. This is your summer retreat.

After seeing a posting on a local info site, we took the kids here for breakfast. Our kids LOVE anything trains and Waldwick Whistle Stop was exactly that plus it’s located near a train station, so for the kids, seeing the real NJ Transit trains pass by was awesome. Furthermore, they have miniature train tracks set out on their yard with beautiful hand painted buildings. Oh, the food and the staff was hands down one of the best I’ve had/met in a while! My wife and the kids also loved the food. My son loved their sandwich so much that he actually asked a second! Waldwick Whistle Stop is our new favorite and we’re sure to frequent it now for lunch and dinner (depending on the day of the week)! It was a bit early and we were full so we have not yet tried their ice cream. I can’t wait to go back!
