The complimentary cinnamon roll was delicious. We didnt have to ask for it. Our waitress brought it right up. Breakfast was really good besides the hash browns. Lol service was great. I wish I got the waitresses name. She was awesome. Thank you for a wonderful 1st time experience.

Waldo Cafe is hands down one of the best breakfast spots in KC. Their cinnamon rolls are consistently excellent—soft, gooey, and perfectly sweet every time. Honestly, everything we’ve ever tried here has been outstanding, making it a dependable favorite for any breakfast or brunch craving.

This is a great little cafe tucked away in the corner of a shopping area. There is plenty of parking. I had a Western burger and it is pretty dang good! Also, the steaming hot cinnamon roll was a nice touch. Service was friendly and all in all, this was a nice visit. I will be back!

A hidden little gem. Classic American diner vibes with classic American diner food. Service is always great. I’d love to give the food 4.5 stars, for it’s solid in every way (and who doesn’t love the cinnamon buns?), just not the “next level” quality I reserve for 5-star food reviews. Overall, though, you owe it to yourself to try this place!

We wanted to try something new. The complimentary cinnamon roll was great, but his hash browns were undercooked (also they should have clarified that the “potatoes” with his dish were actually hash browns and not diced potatoes). My grilled sandwich was very salty and the ham seemed a bit weird. Our server was nice enough, but the young gal hanging at the back bar almost asleep didnt help the ambiance. We won’t need to go back again.

Great lunch today at this classic cafe. The yeast roll was the pinnacle of high school cafeteria deliciousness. Plus liver and onions. Hard to find a place that serves that. And they did a great job. Chicken-fried chicken open-faced sandwich was a winner. Nice touch with the complimentary and tasty cinnamon rolls. Our server, Phyllis, is a gem. Friendly, attentive and wearing a National Sarcasm Society t-shirt. One of the other servers was wearing a T-shirt that said, “I may be wrong, but I doubt it.”
We wound up there as a second choice after stunningly poor service at the nearby Summit Grill. Long story. Read the review on the Summit Grill Google reviews.

How can you not love a place that serves you a cinnamon roll while you wait for your order! Food was great, service was excellent! Don’t miss out!

I had Waldo Cafe catered in for a work lunch. I will say it was phenomenal! The biscuits were fluffy, the sausage grave was creamy and savory, the cinnamon rolls….be careful. So good! I had to not sit down the rest of the day or id have fallen asleep! If they can pull off food this good catering, I can imagine how good it is eating there. I will be doing this soon!

This is a nice local gem for a quick breakfast with a small town diner vibe. I usually order to go but every so often I dine in. My favorite thing to get is the everything Skillet . But I’ve tried the breakfast burittos and other items in the past. You get free cinnamon rolls with every order, which are pretty good! The staff is very nice and attentive. Never had any issues at all with ordering or dining in.
