Amazing food. Simple menu with fantastic items. The superbowl is the wya to go. Classic fresh ingredient done right. Staff treats you so well. They are super friendly! I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re in the garden district anytime around breakfast time do stop here! You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely fabulous sourdough, biscuits, etc. We had the etouffee and grits and the sourdough sandwich, both of which were excellent. The side of fruit consisted of the largest grapes that we had ever seen, plus generous slabs of watermelon and honeydew and generously sized strawberries.

When we arrived, only one other table was occupied, but we were followed by several more people. There was only one server working, and she did not appear to be having a magical day…she took our order and dropped off our food but did not check back at any point and seemed greatly inconvenienced by being asked to refill our tiny water cups about 20 minutes after we had emptied them. Another employee eventually arrived to assist her, and she was much more friendly, but we were almost done by then. Overall, great food in a comfortable setting – just hope you don’t get a server who’s ready to be done for the day.

The food was amazing! It was plated extremely well, and looked very appetising. The taste of the sausage was unlike a lot of breakfast diners and actually had a less sweet and overproduced flavour; It tasted fresh and not frozen. The pancakes were absolutely amazing in fluffiness and the syrup wasn’t overly sweet to the point it made you sick. The eggs were also cooked really well, and the yolk was very runny (I got sunny-side up!). I also got the biscuits and gravy, which had an amazing creamy sauce and well pan-cooked biscuits.

Overall, I would definitely come here again if I lived in the area!

The Waken Bacon had a lineup out the door so we were expecting it to be good, but it was a basic diner with basic food, shitty service, when we were actually let in the host only gave us 1 set of utensils n 1 menu, our server was barely available to us and the cook actually came out to make small talk with other patrons there except me n my husband. Highly disappointing for the over long wait. Will not be returning!

Wonderful breakfast. We didn’t expect to get as much food as we did, but boy what a surprise. Everything was fantastic. I would highly recommend for breakfast or brunch. The biscuits and sausage gravy are the best.

I had The OG Bowl and Cajun Smashed Hash, both are very good and combined they were incredible. I couldn’t finish it all in the end. Highly recommend. Fiancée had bacon and eggs, I believe, which she enjoyed. Great fairly priced breakfast spot.

had an amazing experience here. The food was excellent, and the customer service was just as impressive. Even when the place got busy — and with a new team member learning on the fly — the staff kept everything moving smoothly and stayed friendly and attentive the whole time.

Great spot, great energy, and definitely worth a
visit.

I was on vacation with my Mom in New Orleans last week and we found a great place for breakfast, Wakin Bakin. We ate there twice for breakfast and the service was great, enjoyed all the art work on the walls and the food was very good!

My favorite meal was the Sourdough King with fruit. The egg, cheese, spinach, avocado, tomato, bacon and the tasty sourdough bread!

I also had the pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon was good too.

If you live or are visiting the French Quarter you should definitely go to Wakin Bakin on 900 Dumaine Street!

I wish I could leave a 10 stars. I wanted to try a different place to eat for breakfast and googled here. Place is small, quiet and quiet neighborhood in the morning. The place good music as you eat. The staff are extremely personable and polite. The food came out hot and not a huge wait for it. The food is AMAZING! The best sausage gravy I’ve ever had. I’ve been to a lot of places, and this was extremely good. Not a long wait as I came in at 8 am. I will be back when I’m in the area. Totally recommend eating here! Needs to be packed !
