If you’re anywhere near Auburndale, you absolutely have to try Wakame Japanese and Thai Cuisine — this place is phenomenal!
The flavors are incredible across the board. The sushi rolls are fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor — easily some of the best in the area. The seaweed salad is a standout too: perfectly seasoned, crisp, and refreshing. Every dish tastes like it’s made with care and high-quality ingredients.
What really made the experience exceptional, though, was the service. Alli was amazing — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made great recommendations and made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish.
Between the awesome sushi, delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, and outstanding service, this place is a total win. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be coming back!

This is the 4th time we came here. We love the food. Such a cozy place. Ours server ( Juan ) was so nice and polite. Looks how amazing the food is. Give them a try if you’re in Auburndale

I really liked this restaurant. Gluten free was easy to do. Ask for the special soy sauce! My low sodium friend did not care so much for that version. The Hibachi food was good. The salad was tasty, but, unfortunately, no picture. The sushi eaters loved there choices! Very friendly staff.

First time eating at Wakame and will absolutely be back! Enjoyed the clear soup, Rangoon appetizer and the lunch special 2 choice of sushi rolls for a great price! I had the shrimp tempura and the snow crab which were both very good!! Haleigh our server was so kind and answered all our questions with ease! The food was excellent and we’re excited to try more at our next visit!

The sushi here is unparalleled. My favorite item is the Golden Dragon roll, which has mango and tempura. Even if I’m not getting sushi, the hot food always has a spot in my heart. The Katsu- let me tell you- they don’t mess around. Overall, this is one of my favorite spots to go to dinner with my buddies and I.

Amazing experience from start to finish! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Gunner was friendly, attentive, and fast, and the staff made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. Definitely one of my go-to spots for Japanese and Thai food — highly recommend!

The place is cozy and the service is great.
We took our time to look at the menu and decided to go with a Super Poke Bowl and a Chicken Udon. Both dishes were of good portions and flavorful. My steak could have had a bit of salt but I’m really did not bother me since it is easier to add salt than remove it.
Waiting time for our food was normal and really no complaints. Definitely would come back if we are in the area.
