I have been a customer of Waka Tay for a long time. Food is tasty and that is the reason I continue eating food from Waka Tay. However, recently service has not been the best especially the delivery service. Today, an order for Chicharrón de Pescado was placed. When my mom opened her order of chicharrón de pescado to her surprise there were few pieces of chicharrón de pescado and yuca. The food container looked half empty and this costs $18. WHAT A SCAM! For $18 I expect a good size portion. When my mom called the restaurant she didn’t even get a I’m sorry we will do better the next time” nope nothing. Regardless if you eat at the restaurant or order take out the food portions should be the same as well as the service for both ways should be the same too. Unfortunately, we will not be ordering food from Waka Tay any longer. When you start overpricing food but reducing the size portion it’s time to find another restaurant that what you pay for matches the portion of food.

The prices on the menu are not updated. I ordered a Seco de Frijoles and the price was incorrect when the bill came. I inquired with the waitress and she said management has not updated the menu prices. This is dishonest by the restaurant. I will not be coming back and I would not recommend anyone this restaurant.

The food itself is generally good, but the customer service completely ruins the experience. The woman at the front was extremely rude and unwelcoming. We were told we couldn’t buy a 2-liter cola if we were dining in and were forced to purchase individual drinks instead—clearly just to charge more, which felt petty and unnecessary.
While most of the food was good, the rice pudding was terrible. It tasted old and watery. When we politely brought this up, the response we got was, “I don’t know what you want me to do about it.” No apology, no solution, nothing.
Very unprofessional and disappointing service. Good food isn’t enough to make up for how poorly customers are treated here.

Service was just ok. I wouldn’t describe it as very friendly but it wasn’t say it was bad either..
Peruvian food is heavily influenced by Chinese and you can see and taste it in the food. A lot of their dishes look like variations of Chinese stir fry and fried rice.
I ordered a chicken Lomo Saltado. The food was good, very flavorful but I do think they add in too many French fries as fillers instead of the actual chicken meat. There really wasn’t too much chicken in the dish. However, their green sauce is to die for. I’m sure there’s a lot of calories in it but it’s worth it.
I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to come back here again.

I order from this restaurant before and i loved the rice chauffa special so i decided to order again and i was shocked!!! the quality of food is so poor that won’t feed it to your dog. The meat was so dry and stiff ( very old) they just lost me as a costumer and forever. You can’t feed this food to your costumers come-on!! I am very disappointed! I had to throw out the food that i pay over $40 for it.

2nd trip here was much better!
Tacu tacu – tons of food and the beans were done very well!
Lots of onions, meat was pretty dry, and drowned in very high sodium tasting soy sauce. Not sure I will return.

I was in the mood for Peruvian after my long drive home. I called in my order of the tallarin saltado and it came to about $15. When I arrived I found parking nearby. I walked in and told the server my name. She said it wasn’t done yet so I could have a seat. I waited about another 10 minutes for the food, paid and left. When I got home I dug in and it was very tasty. The green sauce they had was a great add on. The steak was seasoned to perfection. I enjoyed my meal.

We tried the ceviche mixto but it was a little bit too lemony , but their chaufa rice it was so good , didn’t have dessert variety . Staff was courteous and food was served in a good time manner.

The staff was nice, a lot of stuff to choose from the menu. The place itself needs more updating on the decor. The food was ok, I chose the arroz chaufa with beef. It was ok. The chicha morada was good. My friends dish looked good, he had camarón al ajillo. He said it was good. If you are looking for a fancy Peruvian restaurant this is not it. It’s a place for takeout.
